Fodder ramie (Boeheria nivea L.) belongs to Urticaceae (ramie) fibre crop. High CP content and the medicinal functions of Boehmeria L attractive more and more attention in recent years. While there is not literature report systematic search work. In this study,20 tested strains are selected for systematic research on growth period, botanical character, agronomic characters, yield, quality, palatability and cultivation technique of feeding, using nutritional evaluation method. We will provide evidence for popularization and application of good feeding ramie. The conclusions are shown as follows:(1) Biological characteristics and botanical character of twenty tested strains can be divided into three kinds. The color of the leaf, leafstalk and stem of the first kind of ramie is green; the color of the leaf, leafstalk and stem of the second kind of ramie is red; while the color of the leaf, leafstalk and stem of the third type of ramie is the combination of green and red. The analysis of the selection of resources index system uses the cluster analysis involves yield character, drying ingredient, growth speed, branch number, turf height, CP, NDF, ADF, RFV. They can be divided into two kinds. It is showed that the performances of Pinghezhuma, Bensuozhuma No.2 and Shiguanying No.3 are good in three kinds of botanical character.(2) The analyses of nutritional components show that each tested strain (Pinghezhuma, Bensuozhuma No.2, and Shiguanyizhuma) has 17 amino acids, and the total amino acids of 3 tested strains are more than zhongsizhu No.1 (CK1). They are near the consult model of the E/T and E/N ratios, which are 40% and 0.6 raised by FAO/WHO. Pinghezhuma and Bensuozhuma No.2 have the highest kinds of amino acid content. Preliminary evaluation of 3 tested strains show that Bensuozhuma No.2 is the best in CP,EE,Ca,RFV index systems, and Pinghezhuma is the best in Mg,K index systems. Comprehensive Evaluation of tested strains shows that Pinghezhuma and Bensuozhuma No.2 are the best.(3) The influences of different growth period and growth height of Pinghezhuma on its quality are studied. The analysis of selection of resources index system involves CP,EE,Ca,Mg,NDF,ADF,RFV. The results show that CP and RFV of leaf are higher than that of stem, and CP of treatment of 50 cm height level are the best. The four index of CP, Ca, Mg, and RFV in flowering stage are higher than in tillering stage; while the three index of EE,NDF,ADF in flowering stage are less than in tillering stage.(4) Tests on the palatability feeding of Harbin white rabbit with three good fodder ramie resources, zhongsizhu No.1(CK1), Pennisetum americanum×P.purpureum(CK2) show that the palatability and speed of intake of Pinghezhuma are better than CK2.(5) Efficient cultivation of L9 (34) orthogonal experimental design is studied The result show Pinghezhuma is the best tested strains.300 kg urea fertilizer and 90 cm height of cut level have the highest yield. We provide evidence for popularization and application of good feeding ramie in the future.
