Termites are a wide class of hazards, pests devastating worldwide. For the control of termites, termite control is on innovation and development in constantly. To the present, the main control technologies are chemical, physical, population control, termite detection and so on. However, a single chemical control of termite has been used in China for a long time. This method polluted the environment, especially the groundwater. Then, a variety of termite control methods are not suitable for large area in the domestic applications, such as the thin steel plate, sand barriers, termite films and a series of termite control products and technologies. Research applications focus on low cost and simple operation detection technologies all over the world. At present, it takes a lot of time, manpower and material resources to install and check the general detection system. Wired electronic detection system can reduce the amount of manual testing process, but the wiring is complicated in use, a considerable amount of work on line detection, laying the line in the long-term field environment may lead to failure. Therefore the development of wireless technology has great application prospect. It has significant to apply the RFID technology into termite control. This technology transfers the buried hazard of termite to data by electronic sensors. In this paper, we studied the ultra-low power wireless microcontroller and wireless transceiver wake-up technology in termite detector, wireless wake-up technological processing, RF signal transmission in the air treatment:analysis of signal strength, anti-interference measures, air anti-collision packet handling, loss of data processing, handshake communication protocol; collector liquid crystal display, data analysis and storage, and computer interface procedures. In our research, we used comprehensive management of termites. Detection is the core part of this strategy. We applied wireless technology RFID to detect the hazard of the termite. We developed handset by combination the technology of Radio Frequency Identification with to collect the original hazard of termite information in detection sensor, and further capture the signal collection, collation and digitized for computer management. The main results are as follows:(1) Development of sensor tags of hazard of termiteWe applied ultra-low-power embedded wireless single chip to make termite sensor tags (TAG). The smallest of the sensor signals transform the invasion of termites into electronic signals and transmit them by wireless chip. All the data were analysis by appropriate hardware and software. Wireless wake-up technology of the sensor reduced battery power consumption as much as possible, which greatly extended the battery life level, and label with a good waterproof and anti-theft feature.(2) Development of Hand-held data collectorWe developed a hand-held data collector with LCD display. It was easy to collect the signal from 0 to 10 m underground. We analyzed the data by using special processing software. The data would also be transmitted to the computer for further processing correctly by available GSM/GPRS network or RS232 data cable.(3) Development of Graphic softwareWe developed graphic software to handle the received data and reflect the actual state of the detector. When the data showed that termite is activity, the system would issue a warning. Software also had the signal reception, information processing, graphical display, statistics and so on.
