Taiwanofungus camphoratus (also known as"niu-chang-chih"or"niu-chang-ku") is a valuable medicinal mushroom in China. It grows in the inner wall of the rotting trunk of Cinnamomum kanehirai only in Taiwan, was known for its active potent biologic activities. It was revealed that Taiwanofungus camphoratus has extensive biological activities, such as keeping liver, anti-tumour, anti-oxidation, immunity, modulation, deoxifcation and anti-inflammation. It has medicinal merit, and has an exploited potential. With high potential foreground medicinal fungus, it has been becoming an increasing hot research topic in China and abroad.In this paper, the Taiwanofungus camphoratus strain was isolated from Taiwanofungus camphoratus fruiting identified by analyzing its ITSrDNA sequences. When compared with the data in the NCBI database, it is conformed that the preserved stain was Taiwanofungus camphoratus.The fermentation conditions for the production of amphor biomass and the amount of pellets in Taiwanofungus camphoratus were studied through orthogonal experiments. The results showed that the optimized medium compositions were glucose 20g·L-1,bran extract 60 g·L-1, VB1 0.14 g·L-1,KH2PO4 1 g·L-1,MgSO4 0.05 g·L-1. The optimum cultural period was 12 d at 28℃in 500mL shake flasks at 100r/min.The best aeration ratio was 1:2.5 (mediam volume:flask volume). Dry weight of the mycelia production and the amount of mycelia pellets were 11.85g·L-1 and 4.18×104·L-1, respectively.Incubated in liquid Taiwanofungus camphoratus from dry weight and content of active substances as the goal, the single factor and orthogonal test method were chosen to study the liquid static properties of Taiwanofungus camphoratus .The results showed that Taiwanofungus camphoratus could use corn starch, potato starch and potato starch as a carbon source, and it can leach solution using wheat bran as a nitrogen source. Specifically, when the bottle volume growth in 150mL/500mL,showed the best result. On the other hand, the dry weight of Taiwanofungus camphoratus and the income of HPLC chromatogram from Taiwanofungus camphoratus revealed that the Taiwanofungus camphoratus liquid basically does not contain active substance. It was confirmed that, Taiwanofungus camphoratus liquid is not feasible, resulting from these experimental conditions.Solid medium using rice solid culture of Taiwanofungus camphoratus to order from mycelium dry weight and content of active substances for the target, the use of single-factor test methods on the medium composition and culture conditions were studied. The results showed that the content of the mycelia could achieved 12.89g and contained the most abundant materials when the mycelia growed in the conditions that the ration of rice and water was 4:7 and the medium did not add any other nutrients, 55 days cultured under the light conditions.
