Insulin like growth factorⅡ(IGFⅡ) is one kind of protein which can improve cell division in many organizations, and it is very important to regulate embryo, growth and metabolism. Single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) analysis and sequencing reactions were performed to screen single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) in different sequence of IGFⅡgene in Jinghai yellow chickens. Using population genetics methods, the SNP were detected. Meanwhile, the correlation between different chicken genotypes and the production and reproduction traits were studied.The results of PCR-SSCP showed that three genotypes (AA,BB,AB) were detected in three primers(primer1, primer6, primer8). The gene frequencies for allele A and B were 0.6638 and 0.3362, 0.7583 and 0.2417, 0.8417 and 0.1583 in primer1, primer6, primer8 respectively. The chi-sequare test (X2) showed the distribution of genotype of the primer1 was significant different (0.010.05) among population, and this SNP loci was in Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium status(HWE).Sequencing results indicated that three mutations were detected in three primers (primer1, primer6, primer8). There were 139bp nucleotide site (C→G) of code sequence of primer1, 107bp nucleotide site (C→G) of code sequence of primer6 and 567bp nucleotide site (G→A) of code sequence of primer8.Statistical analyses of correlation showed that the genotype AA of the primer1 was...
