Genetic Analysis On Main Quantitative Characters In Pepper (Capsicum Annuum L)

In order to provide information and explore the methods to improvement for pepper breeding, The study was carried out with different pepper lines as material, analyzing the genetic parameters and heterosis among main quantitative characters , the results indicated:â… ,18 parents were selected for the research of main quantitative characters on analysis of the genetic parameters and correlation among different characters by the variance and Co-variance. The results were as following:1. Very significance was found between parents, that mean, the selection of parents was effective. Very significance was found between characters, and we need to analyze the heredity next.2. The heritability of number of fruit, virus disease index were higher, and the Coefficient of henotypic variation were also higher, so the selection was made during early era, and genetic advance would be quickened if we increased the intension of selection suitability ; the heritability of fruit weight, fruit flesh weight was low, and the coefficient of henotypic variation and relative genetic advance were higher, so we should improve the standard of selection and add the times of selection; the heritability of soluble solids were higher, and the coefficient of henotypic variation and relation genetic advance were low, we should broaden the standard of selection and selected at early era.3. Significance positive correlation between yield/fruit with number of fruit, fruit weight, fruit width and fruit flesh weight was existed; there existed significant positive correlation between number of fruit with fruit weight, hence these indicated that we made indirect selection with correlation.â…¡,We studied heterosis in pepper with 9 parents and their incomplete dialed crosses as material, the results were as following :1. The heterosis of the pepper were quite extensive.182 crosses showed positive heterosis over mid-parents, 124 crosses showed negative heterosis over the mid- parents, only 2 crosses expressed no heterosis.2.
