Effects Of Magnesium Fertilizer And Brassinolide On Yield, Quality And Nutrient Absorption Of Banana

This research studied the effect of magnesium fertilizer and brassinolide (BRs) on banana yield, quality, growth and characteristic of mineral nutritious elements in plant by pot experiment and field experiment. The main results were summarized as follows:1. The bunch weight was increased by using magnesium fertilizer and BRs. Bunch weight increased 13.53 % on Magnesium fertilizer treatment compared with the control; basing on applying N, P and K treatment, yield increased 5.3 % and 6.3 % when sprayed BRs in fast-growing stage and seedling stage respectively; While basing on applying magnesium fertilizer treatment, yield increased 12.4 % and 16.0 % when sprayed BRs in fast-growing stage and seedling stage each.2. Applying fertilizer increased the number of fingers of hands. The effect was best by application magnesium fertilizer which increased the number of hands 14.2 %. Sprayed BRs in fast-growing stage based on applying N, P and K Fertilizers increased by 8.4 %. Sprayed BRs in seedling stage based on applying magnesium fertilizer increased the weight of single finger by 20.8 % which was the weightiest among all the treatments. The next was the weight of the treatment with spraying BRs in fast-growing stage which increased 8.8 % compared with the control. The single finger weight was increased 8.0 % and 3.5 % respectively when sprayed BRs in seedling stage and fast-growing stage based on applying N, P and K fertilizers.3. Sprayed BRs in seedling stage based on applying magnesium fertilizer had the best effect on internal quality of banana. It was determined that reducing sugar increased 2.02 %, soluble sugar 1.55 %, acid decreased 0.03 %, the content of vitamin c and protein also increased, the ratio of sugar/acid was higher than control. Other treatments of applying fertilizer improved the internal quality of banana fruits as well.4. Pot experiment showed that the application of magnesium and BRs could promote the growth greatly. Took the growth status of banana after planting 118 d for example, the leaf emission rate on applying magnesium treatment was earlier 0.3 d per leaf than the control, pseudostem height and diameter increased by 1.5 cm and 0.1 cm each, dry weight also increased 14.33 g/plant. By applying BRs, leaf emission rates was 1.5 d per leaf earlier, pseudostem height and dry weight increased 1.7 cm and 8.20 g/plant each. Leaf emission rate of the treatment of combined application magnesium fertilizer with BRs was 1.3 d per leaf earlier, pseudostem height, diameter and dry weight increased 2.7 cm, 0.2 cm and 10.92 g/plant respectively. The study also found out that the application of magnesium and BRs could increase chlorophyll and root activity.
