Effects Of Aniso-Prescription Chinese Herbal Medicine On The Main Digestive Enzyme & Antioxidant Index In Serum In Growing-Cattles

The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of 4 kinds of mixed-herb (A, B, C, D) & herb levels on the activities of the digestive enzyme and the main serum antioxidant index. Thirty-six crossbred beef cattles(Limousin×Lu-xi)were randomly divided into control group (no herb added)and tested groups (2% & 4%), 9 groups included.The effects on activities of main digestive enzymes in different parts of the alimentary canal and pancreas indicated that: 1)The built-in regularity of pH in different alimentary canals was not changed by Chinese herbal medicine. Digesta pH in abomasum was the lowest in all alimentary canal(P<0.05). Digesta pH in ileum had the characteristic of weak base. Digesta pH in different parts of the alimentary canals was not significantly affected by different mixed-herb and levels. 2)Celluase activities in rumen were not significantly affected by different mixed-herb and levels(P>0.05). The level of 2 percent had higer activities than that of 4 percent(P>0.05). 3)Pepsin activity in abomasums was higher in the level of 2 percent than that of control group(P<0.05). The activities of enzyme were not affected significantly between the levels of 2 percent and 4 percent. 4)There were different activities of trypsin and chymotropsin in different parts of small intestine. Trypsin activity in jejunum was higher than in other small intestine(P<0.05). In prescription C & D, chymotropsin activity in jejunum was higher than that in duodenum and ileum(P>0.05). The jejunum was the main place to digest protein. The level of 2 percent sublimated the trypsin activity.Chymotropsin activity was not different between the level of 2 percent and the level of 4 percen(tP>0.05). 5)Lipase activity varied in different parts of small intestine, was higher in the front than that in the lower parts(P<0.05), and was higher in duodenum than that in other small intestine(P<0.05).Lipase activity was not different between jejunum and ileum(P>0.05).Lipase activity in the level of 2 percent was higher than the control group and the level of 4 percent , and there was no significant difference between the control...
