In order to make a scientific plan of prevention and cure of cow endometritis for dairy farms in Huaian, 2160 parturition cows of 2-8 years old were sampled and studied for finding occurrence regularity of cow endometritis from May of 2004 to May of 2005 in 6 counties of Huaian. And 32 samples of uterus secretion from cows which suffered from endometritis were isolated and identified for bacteria, eventually, 100 parturition cows were sampled for prophylactic trial in Chinese crude drug. The results of investigation and study were as follows: The average occurrence rate of cow endometritis was 34.6% in Huaian. The occurrence rate of endomertitis in dairy cows was obviously different in different seasons in Huaian. The incidence rate was higher in 12 to 3 months, which was lowest in 4-5 months, rising again in 6-8 months; The occurrence rate of endomertitis in dairy cows was obviously different in different regions in Huaian. The incidence rate in the counties of Qinhe and Chuzhou was the highest, which was 44.7% and 42.8%, respectively. It in the counties of Qinpu and Huaiying was lower, which was 27.2% and 29.7%, respectively. The occurrence rate of endomertitis in dairy cows was obviously different with different age in Huaian. From 4-8 years old, along with the increase of the age, the outbreak rate of endometritis in dairy cows went up gradually. And from 2-4 years old, along with the increase of the age, it decreased gradually. The occurrence rate of endomertitis in dairy cows was obviously related to the retention of placenta, feeding modes etc. The incidence rate of endomertitis in state cow dairies was 29.5% on average in one year, which in individual cow farms was 39.6% on average in one year. The occurrence rate of endomertitis in individual cow farms was 5% higher than that of the whole city, which was 10.1% higher than that of the large state cow dairies. Of 2160 milk cows of 6 regions, there were 747 cows which suffered from endometrits. There were 451 cows retaining afterbirth which accounted for 60.4% of the numbers of suffering cows. The results of bacteria identified were as follows: 84 strains of bacteria were isolated and identified from 32 cows which suffered from...
