The plants of Lilium L. in Liliaceae are well-known bulb flowers which have great ornamental value. In this paper, 28 Lilium types from Qin-Ba Mountain and its adjacent areas were taken as samples for karyotype diversity analysis. On the basis of kayrotype informations, we examined karyotype differentiation in 5 populations of L. lancifolium Thunb and phylogenetic relationships of 28 Lilium types by nested and cluster analysis. The main results are as follows:1. Karyotype diversity existed in 28 Lilium types.⑴According to chromosome type, 28 Lilium types could be divided into three groups. One group only included L. davidii Duchartre. var. unicolor (Hoog.) Co Hon., which had five types of chromosomes (m, sm, st, t, T); one group included L. brownii F. E. Brown ex Miellez., L. davidii Duchartre., L. regale Wilson., Hanzhong population of L. lancifolium, Fengxian-1, Ningqiang-1, Fengxian-2, Wudu-2, Zhouqu-2-1 and Wenxian-1, which had four types of chromosomes (m, sm, st, t); the other group included L. henryi Baker., Nanzheng population of L. lancifolium, Ankang population of L. lancifolium, Mianxian population of L. lancifolium, Liuba population of L. lancifolium, Dangchang-1, Diebu-2, Liangdang-2, Lueyang-1, Lueyang-2, Huixian-1, Gangu-1, Zhouqu-2-2, Liuba-2, Liuba-3, Liuba-4 and Zhouqu-3, which had three types of chromosomes (m, st, t).⑵The numbers of satellite chromosomes showed in 28 Lilium types included 2 (e.g. L.regale, Lueyang-2), 4 (e.g. L.brownie, Fengxian-1, Ningqiang-1) and 5 (e.g. L.davidii). Secondary constrictions had been found on the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth pair of chromosomes. And the frequency of satellites being on the first pair of chromosomes was the highest, while on the seventh, eighth and ninth pair of chromosomes was the lowest.⑶B-chromosomes were found in Fengxian-2, Wudu-2 and Gangu-1, their numbers (types) of B-chromosomes were 3 (m, m, sm), 1(m), 1(m).2.
