Chromosome Karyotype Analysis On Different Species And Provenance Of Lycium L.

I I Lycium L. belong to the Solanaceae family, a climbing or sprawling shrub,was a valuable traditional chinese medicine.Right now,the classification of the Lycium L. are mainly composed of morphology. The plant morphology will be influenced by the environmental factors and cultivation condition.The development of cytoge netic renders it is necessary to conduct taxonomic not only based on morphology but also by referring to the inherent essence as the classification standard and therefore leads to the more indepth research into the classification of Lycium L..Eleven species of Lycium L. coming from Gansu,Q inghai,Xinjiang,Neimeng of China and Korea were taken as the test materials.The chromosome karyotype of their were investigated with the direct compression method.Further study of their evolutionary trend and relationships.The results were summarized as follows:1 、 The karyotype formula of Lycium barbarum var. Ⅰ, Korea wolfberry, L.chinense var. potaninii, L.barbarum var.K ingguo, Daimao wolfberry, L.qingshuiheense X.L.Jiang, was like:2n=2x=24=18m+6sm,2n=2x=24=20m+4sm, 2n=2x=24=14m(2SAT)+10sm,2n=2x=24=22m+2sm,2n=2x=24=14m+10sm,2n=2x=24=20m(2SAT)+4sm,2n=2x=24=14m+10sm.The karyotype of them belong to 2A,2B,1A, 1A,1A,2A type. The karyotype all of them were very symmetrial and of a primitive type except Korea wolfberry, L.barbarum var.K ingguo and L.qingshuiheense X.L. Jiang. The evolutional trend of d ifferent species Lycium L. was: Korea wolfberry > L.qingshuiheense X.L.Jiang > L.barbarum var.K ingguo >L.ruthenicum Murr. from Nuomuhong>Daimao wolfberry>L.barbarum var.Ⅰ>L.chinense var. potaninii. L.chinense var. potaninii was most primitive.The highest degree in the evolution of different species Lycium L.. To compare the karyotype of different species Lycium L.,we can get that all of L.ruth- enicum Murr., L.barbarum var.K ingguo and L.qingshui- heense X.L.Jiang had closer relationship, L.barbarum var.Ⅰ, Daimao wolfberry and L.chinense var. potaninii had similar relationship. Korea wolfberry has distant relation with others.2、The karyotype formula of different provenance L.ruthenicum Murr. from Minqin, L.ruthenicum Murr. from Yumen, L.ruthenicum Murr. from N uomuhong, L.ruthenicum Murr. from Baijiantan and L.ruthenicum Murr. from Ejin Banner was like: 2n=2x=24=20m+4sm(2SAT),2n=2x=24=18m(2SAT)+ 6sm,2n=2x=24= 20m(2SAT)+4sm,2n=2x=24=18m(2SAT)+6sm,2n=2x=24=20m+4sm. The karyotype of them belong to 1A type. Except for L.ruthenicum Murr. from Nuomuhong and L.ruthenicum Murr. from Ejin Banner, The karyotype of them were very symmetrial and of a primitive type.
