Canola is one of the predominant agricultural products with comparative advantage in Jingmen. Trials for development of standard production technology and popularization of Canola, which lie between natural sciences and social sciences, are restricted by many factors such as local economy, technology, natural resources, farmers education etc. The researches presented in this paper describe the following aspects about popularization of Canola. Firstly, introduction, test and demonstration of new Canola varieties. Secondly, studies of technology for high yielding hybrid seed production. Thirdly, investigation, establishment and practice of standard manipulation regulations on Canola production. Finally, establishment of guidelines that are suitable for Jingmen, on the popularization of standard technology of Canola production.Based on the analysis of problems existed in the popularization of Canola varieties and the production reality in Jingmen, we put forward the performance index of rapeseed production technology standardization and popularization strategy in Jingmen. The key techniques for the production of Huaza No.5 (986A xRSH5900) with an average yield of 75 kg/667m2 are: sowing seeds of both parents at the same time, around September 24; to spray Yi-zai-ling after seedling emergence; to transplant at more than 7-leaf stage with a ratio of 2:4 paternal : maternal lines, meaning 2000 plants of paternal line and 4500 plants of maternal line per 667m2; apply 50 kg/667 m2 30% compound fertilizer which consists 1.25 kg borax and 10 kg potass; in addition, to add 7.5 kg /667 m2 urea and 2 kg/667 m2 urea for the parental upon transplanting; to supple urea at shooting stage according to leaf appearance; to prevent harm from disease and pests on time; to spray 40% Jun-he-jing at early flowering stage; to wipe off mixtures and inferiors, and dispose of main inflorescence to ensure purity.Using the rotatable design with three factors and each factor at two levels, we investigated the correlation of three factors, which includes transplant density (x1), left-stem height (X2) and nitrogen level (X3), with the yield and yield components of Huayouza no. 8. The results showed that their effects on yield were in the following order: nitrogen level>left-stem height>transplant density; the rosette size, no. of siliques per plant and nitrogen level is positively correlated with yield. Based on the regression mathematic model setting up with these results, we proposed that optimization culture scheme of output of above 2406 kg/ hm2 for Huayouza N0.8 is: nitrogen level of 225 kg/hm2, left-stem height of 11.5 cm, transplant density of 75000 plant/ hm2.
