As a famous large lake in China, Taihu Lake is famed not only for its natural beauty but also for being the important fishery area in china. The management of fishery resources affects fishery production in Taihu Lake directly. Taihu Lake is abundant in fishery resources and breeds, so it is typical of its kind. However, the needs of fishery resources management were unable to satisfied with the traditional evaluation of fishery resources and ineffective data utilization.As the capacity of computer hardware and software improved and the development of Geographic Information system, the construction of Taihu Lake fishery management tool (Monitor GIS for Taihu Lake Fishery Resources) is feasible, and the existing lots of Taihu Lake fishery data offer in development of this system.Base on upwards background, ComGIS software MapInfo MapX 5.0 and object oriented programming tools Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 were used to develop Monitor GIS for Taihu Lake Fishery Resources.Firstly, in this thesis, the basic things of Taihu Lake fishery resources are introduced, the thought of constructing the Monitor GIS for Taihu Lake Fishery Resources based on The management of fishery resources in Taihu Lake is put forward, the objective and meaning of this study is explained.Secondly, the definition, distinguishing feature and function of GIS are introduced; the technology foundation, characters and structure of ComGIS are particularly expatiated; development mode of GIS is discussed; the status of GIS using in fishery production is explained.Thirdly, the development project, principle, requirement, functional architecture and interface design are discussed at large; the used software such as ComGIS software Maplnfo MapX 5.0 are introduced.Fourthly, application function is explained with example.At last, conclusion and expectation are put forward according to the true application situation.The results of this study are as followed:...
