Fishery resources are the uppermost physical foundation of fishery production and development. Monitoring fishery resources could manage them effectively, prevent them from recession, and realize the sustainable development. Because of more monitoring classification and data type, too much data from the fishery monitoring, it is difficult to show the results of data analysis intuitionally and roundly by groovy method of statistics and analysis. Meanwhile, because of more monitoring stations and wide monitoring region, it is hard to combine data with geographic information effectively. The traditional statistic results can't apply the need of dynamic monitoring of fishery resource. Based on GIS technology, we can represent the dynamic and timing monitoring data, the supervisor of fishery resources can know the general information in time, manage the fishery resources scientificly, provide gist for artificial stocking, and realize the sustainable utilizing of fishery resources.Based on the monitoring data of the lower reaches of Yangtse River, digital maps of water aera involved in the system were done. According to the feature of monitoring data in fishery resources and the need of management, the technology GIS (geographic information system) and Mapx groupware have been analysed, different system and COM technology have been compared. It is confirmed that the system was exploited by the control of Mapx on visualization platform of Visual Basic. By analyzing the special function of the fishery GIS. the spatial data and the attribute data have been constructed, and the system of fishery GIS has been integrated. The research indicated that the fishery GIS of the lower reaches of Yangtse River could not only do what other GIS did, but also realize the efficient management and the perfect expression of fishery resources. In application fishery GIS could make the...
