Based on theory of Computational Fluid Mechanics, and apply theoretical analysis of the mathematical and physical models, the experiment simulated the outdoor burning turbulence flow of radiation source of log pile. The outdoor experiment was conducted in a natural environment. Data were collected on the temperature field of log pile, as well as the temperature field of pile's ambient, and the burning characteristic of the log pile was observed. The outdoor experiment has supplied the numerical values of the boundary condition and temperature field, and has provided a solid foundation for numerical simulation. Based on the experiment, we simulated the rules of temperature variation and vicinity temperature distribution of the burning log pile under the effect of radiation source. The outcome of the simulation was generated directly using post-processing tool, and the results were compared and analyzed. The result of the simulation confirms that it is feasible to perform numerical calculations of burning log pile using the k-e turbulence flow model. This method will help engineers predict the variations of the temperature field of the burning log pile, and improve design of models. Therefore, it has a significant impact on good functional design.
