Sugarcane is one of the important economical crops in the south area of China. Harvesting sugarcane is a very painstaking, time-consuming and high strength job. At the present time there is not mature small-scale sugarcane harvester appearing in the market that adapt to the areas of south China. Harvesting sugarcane is still by hand mostly. And doing the research work about small-scale sugarcane harvester has great practical significance.The sugarcane leaf cleaner is one of the major parts of the small-scale sugarcane harvester. The 4ZB-6A small scale sugarcane leaf cleaner developed by ourselves already had its national patent. Its cleaning leaf element is the pioneer in its field. But this sugarcane leaf cleaner has a default, that is hurting sugarcane's skin, So it important to solve this problem. This paper found an new installing method of cleaning leaf element for lower hurting sugarcane's skin percentage and better cleaning sugarcane leaf effect, that is 60°helix angle installing method.(l)Basing on the research ahead, dynamics formula is derived by analysis the kinematics condition in the process of sugarcane cleaning. The elements which affect the cleaning leaves is analyzed.(2)This paper designed solid assemble model of sugarcane leaf cleaner with cleaning leaf element installed from some aspects using UG software, such as conveying roller, bracket, cleaning roller and cleaning element etc.(3)Using two different method, that is ADAMS/Autoflex and ANSYS, the sugarcane cleaning leaf element were converted into flexible bodies, then led them into ADAMS and installed with other parts, simulated in ADAMS with different cleaning leaf rotating speed, then compared the result with the former analysis.(4)In this paper, two experimental platform were established according to the basic size of sugarcane leaf cleaner's virtual model with cleaning leaf elements installed in 30°, 60°, 75°helix angle and 60°interleaving angle roller. And then did cleaning leaf experiment. The experimental results indicated this experiment was successful. The sugarcane hurting percentage was very low, When the cleaning leaf rotating speed was 900r/min, every test data was good. This experiment verified the sugarcane leaf cleaner with cleaning leaf element installed in 60°helix angle proposed in this paper is feasible. And this has some reference worthiness to the deeper research of this small-scale sugarcane harvester.
