Using Chemical Analysis and In Vitro Method, respectively, two experiments were conducted to predict the digestible energy values in the research objects of cottonseed meal.In the first experiment, the relationship between the swine digestible energy and Nutritional matter (NM), Nonnutritive matter (NNM) were investigated in order to study the feasibility to predict the DE in cottonseed meal. 8 Duroc×Landrance×Largewhite castrate male pigs with 35±2 kg initial body weigt avoirdupois were sorted according to Two 4×4 Latin Square design. The DE values of 8 cottonseed meal were determined by difference method. The factors and models for predicting the DE in cottonseed meal were screened with the correlation between DE and NM, NNM. As a result, there was no significant between DE and EE, CP and Ash(︱r︱≤0.51, P>0.05), while the correlation between DE and CF (r=-0.98), NDF (r=-0.95), ADF (r=-0.97), ADL (r=-0.73) and GE(r=0.99) was highly significant in cottonseed meal, the influences of CF, NDF, ADL and GE to the variation of DE were not from themselves directly but from the influence of ADF to DE, so ADF is the best predicting factor and the best regression equation is DE(MJ/kg)=16.52-0.28×ADF%(R2=0.95, RSD=0.51, P<0.01).In the second experiment, the correlation between the swine digestible energy and the organic matter digestibility of cottonseed meal were investigated in order to study the feasibility to predict the DE in cottonseed meal with In Vitro Method. Using pepsin-pancreatin–Viscozyme to digest 8 cottonseed meals, the DMD and OMD were determined and the DE of these cottonseed meals came from the first experiment. After statistical analyzing, the results showed that, there was highly significant correlation relationship between DE and DMD and OMD (r>0.97), and there was highly significant collinearity between DMD and OMD. OMD is the best predicting factor and the best regression equation is DE(MJ/kg)=0.22×OMD%-2.2679 (R2=0.96, RSD=1.89, P<0.01)。...
