In this paper, the fertilizer management of Hybrid cymbidium andpotting medium were studied adopting the means of potted experimentsand indoors analyzes combined with production. The photosyntheticcharacteristics of some breeds of Hybrid cymbidium were also be studied.The results can be summarized as follows:1. For Cymbidium JF, the growth performance was the best with N4level. Various growth indexes were significantly better than otherthree N levels. P, K, Ca, Mg didn't have much affect on the growthof JF. But P3,K1,Ca1,Mg2 are better than other levels. Theorthogonal experiment indicated that the optimal treatment is T16.New shoots grew much faster than other treatment. And the contentof soluble sugar and protein were also quite a bit. The chlorophyllcontent of cymbidium leaves of this treatment is 1.63 mg·g-1FW,chlorophyll a/b is 2.701, both were much more than othertreatment.2. Study on potting medium showed that: the plants grown in mosswere better than that of other medium. And the growth of new shooton sand and sphagnum medium is the worst. But moss medium hasmuch stronger ability to hold water. The death rate was the highest.Bark and sphagnum(v:v 10:0), bark and coconut husk chip (v:v 9:1)medium were suitable to the growth of cymbidium JF. The netphotosynthesis rate of cymbidium JF on different medium hadprominent differences. Bark and coconut husk chip (v:v 9:1) hadthe highest Pn, sand and sphagnum medium had the lowest Pn. Andthe root activity on different medium had prominent differences.Bark and coconut husk chip medium was the highest, and sand andsphagnum medium was the lowest.3. Different breeds of Hybrid cymbidium had the same diurnalvariation of net photosynthesis rate of leaves in sunny days. Pn change exhibited bimodal curve, with a lower value of second peakthan the first peak. First peak and second peak appear at about 11and 15 o'clock respectively. Study on seasonal variation of netphotosynthesis rate shows that: different Hybrid cymbidiumalmost had the same change trend. The effect of CO2 and PAR on Pnis very prominent, CO2-Pn and PAR-Pn curves were parabola. TheCCP, CSP of hybrid cymbidium in the experiment showed that:they are C3 plant. And the LSP, LCP showed that they belonged toshade-enduring plant.4. Study on photosynthetic characteristics of diploid, triploid andtetraploid Hybrid cymbidium showed that: photosyntheticcharacteristics were different on the basis of breeds. Photosyntheticcharacteristics of JF and it's parents were compared: there wereprominent differences between LSP, CCP, CSP of them. And JFinherited the characteristics of it's parents. Pn max of KH is higherthan both it's parents. Compared with it's parents, the LSP, AQY,CCP, CSP of KIt is much higher. LCP and CE between it's pareats.
