| Drought is a main agriculture disaster in Shaoguan Basin with highfrequency, wide area, large intensity and heavy losses. It effectsunavailable on the subtropical agricultural foundation and regionalsustainable development. There are many factors which influence thedisaster such as rich summer precipitation, intense autumn-winterevaporation, insufficient irrigation, inefficient water using,irrational plant structure. Autumn and winter drought is common inShaoguan Basin and the middle area is the most serious.Agriculture drought disaster vulnerability (ADDV) is systematicallyanalyzed on the basis of forming factors. An appraisement index systemis established according to AHP and the condition of Shaoguan Basin.Drought index, irrigation index, GDP, peasant's income are mostimportant factors among the system. A database about geographicinformation and natural disaster of Shaoguan Basin is built for theappraisement of ADDV. Original data comes from field investigation andstatistical information. Index weights are defined by the judgment matrix.ADDV of Shaoguan Basin during 1985-2006 period is described with itshistory character in regulation. |
