This study investigated the effects of brown rice-based dietary protein level andLHRH-A3 injection dose on production of XuPu geese. Two series of experiments wereconducted with One-Way grads design. In cultured trial-1, five isocaloric(11 MJ·kg-1)diets containingⅠ13.0%,Ⅱ14.5%,Ⅲ16.0%,Ⅳ17.5% andⅤ19.0% crude protein wereprepared. 240 geese were randomly assigned to five treatments with three replicates ineach one (12 birds/replicate), and were raised for 60d; In trial-2,Ⅰ0μg/bird,Ⅱ5βg/bird,Ⅲ10μg/bird,Ⅳ15μg/bird,Ⅴ20μg/bird LHRH-A3 were administered to five treatments, respectively. 300 geese were randomly assigned to five treatments with three replicates ineach one (16 birds/replicate), and were raised for 60d. The results of experiment were asfollows:1. The number of egg production of XuPu geese with brown rice as energy feedduring 60d reached 20. The percent fertility and hatch reached to 96% and 90%,repectively.2. The results showed that the number of egg production, rate of eggs production andaverage egg weight of treatmentsⅢ,Ⅳ,Ⅴwere significantly increased with an increasein the dietary protein level (P<0.05), while the feed conversion efficiency decreasedmarkedly (P<0.05); thickness of egg shell and the proportion of shell weight oftreatmentⅠwere lower than those in the treatmentⅢ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ(P<0.05); egg-shapeindex and rate of albumen weight and yolk weight of each treatment were notsignificantly different (P>0.05).3. With different dietary protein levels, the the fertility rate of each treatment was notsignificantly different (P>0.05); the hatch rate in treatmentⅢ,Ⅳ,Ⅴand the percentageof healthy gosling in treatmentⅣ,Ⅴtotally increased significantly.4. The concentration of serum TP,GLB,ALB and activity of ALP were notsignificantly different (P>0.05); activities of ALT and AST in geese serum in treatmentⅢ,Ⅳ,Ⅴwere higher than those in other two treatments, and uric acid of treatmentⅤwas the highest among all treatments (P<0.05).5. The concentration of serum PRL with different protein level of rice-based dietarywas not significantly different (P>0.05), however, the P concentration of treatmentⅢ,Ⅳand E2 concentration of treatmentⅢ,Ⅳ,Ⅴincreased significantly (P<0.05).6. With different dose of LHRH-A3, the number of egg production and the rate of egg production of treatmentⅢ,Ⅳincreased significantly (P<0.05); while the situation in treatmentⅤwas adverse. The average egg weight and the rate of feed intake increased significantly (P<0.05),while it decreased significantly (P<0.05) in treatmentⅢ.7. Thickness of egg shell, rate of albumen weight and yolk weight in each treatment had nosignificant difference (P>0.05); the egg-shape index of treatmentⅤsignificantly increased (P<0.05), and the rate of shell weight and hatching rate decreased significantly (P<0.05).8. The serum TP,GLB,ALB and WBC,RBC,Hb,L% of each treatment werenot significantly different (P>0.05).9. The concentration of serum P and E2 of treatmentⅢincreased significantly, whileit decreased significantly in treatment V(P<0.05). The concentration of E2 of treatmentⅣalso increased significantly (P<0.05). The concentration of serum PRL of eachtreatment was not significantly different (P>0.05).From the results above, we can conclude:1. Brown rice-based diet is one of the high quality diets for XuPu breeder geese.2. The optimal protein level was 16%. The ratio of protein and ME in this diet was14.5 g. MJ-1 while 11.00 MJ/kg of ME.3. 10μg/bird and 15μg/bird LHRH-A3 injection can stimulate the production of XuPubreeder geese, while 20μg/bird LHRH-A3 inhibit the egg production.
