Enshi Atonomous Prefecture locates in south-west Hubei with large andmulty-topography,temperate climate and abundant rainfall, which favour oil rapeproduction. The high quality of oil rape has been grown in Enshi since 1990's.Theplanting area increased rapidly from 1300 ha in 1994 to 30800 ha in 2005 which accountsfor 53.86% of the total production area of oil rape in the region. The new variety "Huayouza 9",which showed high yield ,good quality, resistance toenvironmental stresses, strong adaptation and pocessed other economic characteristics inmany regional tests, has been selected as a main variety to adapted to Enshi. To provide abase of suitable cultivation techniques for "Huayouza 9" the present research wasconducted to look at the effects of the cultivation factors on its growth and yield. With the orthogonal designe ,Three factors, planting date (9/18,9/28and10/8),nitrogen supply(187.5,225.0 and 262.5 kg/ha) and plant density (120,150 and 180×1000 plants/ha) were investigated to research efftcts of cultivation factors on yield of oilrape variety "Huayouza 9".The results indicated that as increase in nitrogen supply, the valid branches perplant, seed set pods per plants and other economic characteristics increased.Along withincrease in plant density the frist branch number and seed set pods of the maininflosescence decreased. Suitable early planting promoted plant growth anddevelopment ,and hence to gain high yield. In this experiment the combination planting on 9/18,150000 plants/ha,262.5kgN/hahad the highest yield (2850.00 kg/ha),and as same as the most theoretical superiorcombination.Through this experiment determind that the most two suitable combinations forgrowing "Huayouza 9" were planting on18/9, 150000 plants/ha and 262.5kgN/ha andplanting on10/8,120000 plants/ha and 262.5kgN/ha.
