Production potential and its limited factors of summer maize in Henan were studied systemicly in this article.Production potential of different zoology areas in Hennan were defined.Methods of improving single yield have been put forward on the existing problems in different zoology areas at present.Light and temperature potentials of summer maize in different zoology areas have been evaluated by simulating solar radiation,18957.2 kg/hm~2 in Anyang,18965.3 kg/hm~2 in Jiaozuo,18999.9kg/hm~2 in San menxia,19005kg/hm~2 in Luoyang, 19639.5kg/hm~2 in Zhoukou,19835.4kg/hm~2 in Shangqiu,21103kg/hm~2 in Zhu madian, 21097.3kg/hm~2 in Nanyang.Light and temperature production potential in different zoology areas have been evaluated by basesing annual actual temperature(max,min, mean),achieved temperature index by simulating per day tempertature,16303.2kg/hm~2 in Anyang,17258.4kg/hm~2 in Jiaozuo,15959.9kg/hm~2 in San menxia,16154.3kg/hm~2 in Luoyang,17871.9kg/hm~2 in Zhoukou,17256.8kg/hm~2 in Shangqiu,18148.6kg/hm~2 in Zhu madian,18354.7kg/hm~2 in Nanyang.Light,temperature and water production potentials in different zoology areas have been evaluated by basing annual precipitation quantity and evaporation quantity,achieved water index,6032.2kg/hm~2 in Anyang, 5867.9kg/hm~2 in Jiaozuo,3511.2kg/hm~2 in San menxia,5654kg/hm~2 in Luoyang, 8757.3.5kg/hm~2 in Zhoukou,7765.5kg/hm~2 in Shangqiu,10344.7kg/hm~2 in Zhu madian,9911.5kg/hm~2 in Nanyang.Light,temperature,water and soil production potentials in areas have been evaluated by basing soil situations in different areas, achieved soil index,4825.8kg/hm~2 in Anyang,4694.3kg/hm~2 in Jiaozuo,2282.3 kg/hm~2 in San menxia,3675.1kg/hm~2 in Luoyang,6567.9kg/hm~2 in Zhoukou, 5824.2kg/hm~2 in Shangqiu,7241.3kg/hm~2 in Zhu madian,6938.1kg/hm~2 in Nanyang.Production potentias in defferent zoology areas are different.The gap between actual single yield and producton potential is dipper.At present,mean single yield and historic highest single yield are slown that Jiaozuo,Anyang,Shangqiu,Zhoukou,Nanyang, Zhumadian,Luoyang and San menxia are descended in turn.The highest single yield of different zoology areas of maize all doesn't exceed the production potentials of photosynthesis,light and temperature.Historic highest single yield and mean actual yield in Jiaozuo have exceeded the local production potential of light,temperature, water and light,temperature,water and soil.Historic highest single yield has exceeded the local production potential of light,temperature,water,and light,temperature,water and soil in Anyang and San menxia.Though,mean single yield doesn't exceed production potential of light,temperature and water.Historic highest single yield and actual single yield have exceeded the local production potential of light,temperature, water and soil in Luoyang.But still missing production potentials of light,temperature and water.Among Shangqiu,Zhoukou,Zhu madian and Nanyang,Only in Shangqiu,historic highest single yield has exceeded exactly the local production potentials of light,temperature,water and soil.In other areas,in spite of historic highest single yield and actual yield don't exceed the local production potentials of light,temperature,water and soil.So,production potentials of summer maize in different zoology areas need have been further explored.Maize in Henan,maize of all of the country,world maize single yield,total yield and planting areas have been compared in this article.Difference has been existed between maize in Henan and the country.Summer maize in Henan yield can be reached the total yield upper limit by speculating different limited factors.From advancing exploitation potential,proper breeding new maize various should be selected.Enhancing the planting quality of maize,properly prolonging the harvest time, enhancing limited water irrigation technology,enhancing soil improved and soil fertilizered,selecting resist diseases various,enhancing synthesis prevention and cure diseases and insects,extending widely intercrop and stable yield of different genotype maize technologies,enhancing skill training and extending agriculture technology, which will establish the theoretic basis for the yield development of summer maize and point the development diretion.
