In the experiment, we investigated the reason of death of clinical cases by bacteriology examination and electron microscope negative staining. The result of bacteriology examination indicated, we watched straight bacillus which was short and pachy from blood smear of heart-blood. The bacillus was Gram-negative bacterium. It was dyed strongly in amphi with Methylene Blue. It had capsule but without gemma. We would watch obvious capsule by staining with Indian ink. The experimental result of cultural character and biochemical characteristics of pathogenic bacterium showed that, the strain was K.peumoniae of raccoon dog. We inoculated mouse via abdominal cavity with dilution liquid of pure cultivation bacterium. The inoculated mouse started to fall ill after two hours, then died all after twelve hours. We watched pathological changes of death mouses which was similar with death raccoon dogs. The experimental result of animal regression showed that the isolated strain had strong pathogenicity and the reason of death of raccoon dogs was infected by K.peumoniae.The experimental result of medicine sensitiveness showed that the bacterium was sensitive to amikacin, cefoperazone, piperacillin and fortum, but highly resistant to other drugs that were used. After treating the samples by trituration, the virus particle was not detected by electron microscope negative staining. We treated centrifugalization supernatant with penicillin and streptomycin, then carried out viral isolation by inoculating them in Vero,BHK,MDCK cell. The CPE was not observed after 72 hours, however we still did not observe the CPE after blind three passage. The result of viral isolation and identification eliminated the possibility of the raccoon dogs dying of viral disease. Then based the assessment result of bacteriology, we confirmed the reason of death of raccoon dogs was infected by K.peumoniae.The observation result of pathohistology indicated that the raccoon dog mainly showed the changes of interstitial pneumonia, acute inflammation spleen swelling and kidney high granular degeneration. The blood capillary of alveolar wall highly stretched and congested, and there were abound with inflammatory cell infiltrate in lumina. Lung interstitium widened for the accumulation of edema liquid and the connective tissue became raritas. The lung showed changes of interstitial pneumonia. The spleen were abound with blood and showed acute splenectasis symptom. The epithelial cells of renal tubule swelled, blood capillary of renal tubule highly stretched and congested, blood capillaries of renal corpuscle glomus highly stretched and congested. The results show that myocarditis caused by Pasteurella is immediate cause of the raccoon dog's death. The above-mentioned results showed that raccoon dogs infected K.peumoniae was the direct reason of death.Recently, the drug resistant strains and velogenic strains of K.peumoniae gradually increased ,consequently increasing the difficulty of clinical diagnosis and treatment. We obtained several scientific data from the experiment by investigating and analyzing the death reason of raccoon dog. The result of research would provide theory bases and background datas for the clinical diagnosis and prevention and cure of Klebsiella diseases of raccoon and other animals.
