Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi is a perennial leguminous vine of the genus Pueraria DC.It was recorded firstly in The Shen Nong book on Chinese medicine matierals. The dry root of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi is used as drug frequently,and it is used to Clear away heat and activating blood circulation,nourish Yin and promoting the production of body fluid and treat the measles.Now,it has high value for treating the hypertension and the coronary heart disease.The main components,puerarin and isoflavones are used to treat the cardio-cerebral vascular disease.It also contains many kinds of nutritional components,such as starch,raw fiber,protein and minerals et al,so it has high value for the nutrition supply.With the improvement of our living level and the realization of health and natural environment,the resource and materials of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi are more and more focused on and used in our living.It is more and more important to protect and use rationally the resource.Further researches on bioactive components of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi was reported in other articles.But there is little research on wild planta tending,especially on cultivation,management and gathering.The cultivation technique on Radix Puerariae has been studied systematically by others,but Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi has different physiological characteristics,value,main productive area and application.The optimum harvesting period influent obviously the quality of herb,so it is necessary to determinant the optimum harvesting period of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi.Wild Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi planta tending involves several multilevel studies.Propagations,vine length,gathering time and quality of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi are studied in this paper.It is not only beneficial to setting up GAP base and wild planta tending but also to nature reserve and sustainable development of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi.1 The determination on the optimum harvesting periodThe contents of puerarin and isoflavones in Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi with different ages and monthes were determined by The HPLC and UV-spectrophotometer at 250nm.The contents of puerarin and isoflavones in the 5-years old have significant difference with other ages,and they are respectively:3.99%and 6.99%.Among 5-year old Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi gathered in June,the main contents,puerarin and isoflavone get to the maximum and has significant difference with other samples,and they are:7.04%and 8.76%.The total quantities of puerarin and isoflavones in per plant in November have significant difference with other materials.So,it is suitable to gather 5-year old Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi in November.2 Analysis on quality of Pueraria lobata(Willd)OhwiThe contents of puerarin and isoflavone were determinated in root and vine of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi and the root of Radix Puerariae.The contents of puerarin and isoflavones in 5-years old root of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi was higher and has significant difference with the vine.The content in 2-year old vine was much higher than in 1-year old vine.The descending order of the contents of puerarin and isoflavones was as follow: 5-years old root>over 2-years old vine>one year old vine>Radix Puerariae.The starch,raw fiber,and protein in Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi mainly influence on their process quality and utilization value.The contents of starch in fresh Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi and Radix Puerariae are respectively 33.6%and 20.6%.The average contents of raw fiber in them are respectively 20.42%and 7.4%. The content of raw fiber in Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi was much higher than in Radix Puerariae.The content of protein in the root of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi(22.16%)was much higher than in the root of Radix Puerariae(17.42).the contents of protein in leaves and root are respectively 16.24%and 6.90%.The order of the contents of protein was as follow:the root of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi>the root of Radix Puerariae,the leaves of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi>the vine of Pueraria lobata (Willd)Ohwi.In the area of nature reserve and wild planta tending of Shandong Yiyuan, Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi grows about 6 monthes,and is gathered in spring or autumn.It is very important to determent the optimum harvesting period because the harvesting period influents the quality of herb.The root of 5-year old Pueraria lobata (Willd)Ohwi gathered in November has the best value for medicine.Pueraria lobata (Willd)Ohwi has higher contents of protein and raw fiber than Radix Puerariae by determining the yield and main components,but less content of starch.The root of Pueraria lobata(Willd)Ohwi is used to medicine,and the leaves and vines content some puerarin,isoflavones and other matters for industry.So it is useful for nature reserve,utilization,the protection to Eco-environment and sustainable development of Pueraria lobata(WiUd)Ohwi.
