Pueraria lobata(Willd) Ohwi is a perennial leguminous vine of the genus Pueraria DC. It has been formally listed on the "food and drug" items by Chinese Ministry of Health in 1998. It contains many bioactive components, for example isoflavone et al, and it also contains many kinds of nutritional components, such as starch, dietary fiber, protein and mineral et al, so it has high value for the nutrition supply. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has forecasted that Pueraria radix will be the sixth alimentary crop. So it deeply needs to study P. lobata from Nutriology.Modern Nutriology considers that there are many kinds of bioactive compounds being called phytochemicals in plant food, excepting the traditional nutritional ingredients such as protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamin and mineral. Isoflavone, main active component of P. lobata is one of phytochemicals.By the past studies, it was showed the components of Pueraria DC plants were variable in different growing regions and different plant parts; also the kinds and contents of the plant in the same area were diversity in different seasons. So the adoptive parts and the collecting seasons were chosen in indifferent ways for the special usage oi P. lobata.
