Corn is mostly food supplies crop inferior to wheat in China. While at present corn harvesting still relies on manpower, the rate of machine harvesting popularization is less than five percent. Therefore, it is chief assignment to quickly boost mechanization of corn production. It is also an efficient approach to alleviate labor intensity and increase efficiency and income for peasant. So it is urgent affairs to develop corn harvesting machines having more full function and more advanced configuration.At home, corn planting has multiplicity about specifications. At present, it is not-matching between corn harvester and planting system. Corn harvester exists in some disadvantages, for example, illogical configuration, unsatisfactory performance, high seeds broken up and loss ratio, and so on. Aiming at the research actuality, the paper tries to theoretically analyze the configuration and principle of snapping bar and research the means and technique of snapping bars on corn harvesters using virtual design and imitation on the base of developing the corn combine harvester of the configuration simpleness and high applicability, to offer more theory bases about physical prototyping trial-manufacturing.1. Mensurating and study physical characteristic of corn and mechanical dynamics characteristic during snapping corns, to offer basic theory datum for more research and design on snapping bars.2. On the base of analyzing and study several snapping bars, going deep into analysis the working principle and gnawing corn mechanism of the snapping bars and bringing forward a more excellent corn snapping bars.3. Analyzing the diameter's affect on working performance of corn snapping bars. The parameters are working clearance, working length, obliquity, and rotate speed of corn snapping bars, busywork velocity and passing competence and so on. Also probing into every parameter's calculation means and confirming some parameters.4. Analyzing the athletics rule about fringe and culms during the course of snapping corns. Establishing three-dimension model for corn snapping bars using Pro/E, and providing relative parameters and imitation model for following imitation and analysis. 5. Imitation research about kinematics and kinetic of corn snapping bars using virtual prototyping technology (MSC.ADAMS) and analyzing the effect of libration characteristics of snapping bars on the whole machine's working performance and offer evidence for upper amelioration design of configuration.Combining the physical and mechanical characteristics, it can obtain relatively suited parameters by design and imitating the snapping bar using virtual design technology. It offers theory evidence and means for developing physical prototyping of corn snapping bars, also enhances the practicability and dependability of its research results.
