Lilium lancifolium Thunb. is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine which belongs to the Liliaceae family and is widely distributed in China. It has various pharmacological functions, for example, relieving a cough, soothing the nerves, diuresis, and so on. To further exploit and utilize the resource of L. lancifolium Thunb., this dissertation was carried out a systematic research on three fields: the protested systematically of chemical constituents and the contents of total polyphenol were determined. Based on the results above, some compounds were separated and purified from the ethanol extracts from the bulbs of L. lancifolium Thunb. by modern chemical isolation and purification methods. And the structures of them were elucidated by the physicochemical properties detection and a series of spectral analysis. It was investigated the allelopathetic effects and mechanisms of the aqueous extracts from the bulbs of Lilium lancifolium Thunb. on lettuce. The results showed as follows:1. The chemical constitutions of the L. lancifolium Thunb. were studied through the protested systematically by the cuvette and the filter paper methods. The results showed that the L. lancifolium Thunb. contained polyphenol, tannins, coumarins and coumarin glycosides, alkaloids, steroids, flavonoids and flavone glycoside, polysaccharides and the glycosides, organic acids, amino acids, essential oil and lipid, not anthraquinones and the glycosides, cardiac glycoside. The contents of total polyphenol in the different varieties of Lily were determined by UV method. The results showed that the total polyphenol content of different varieties were obvious different. The order is: Lilium brownii F. E. Brown var. viriulum Baker > Lilium lancifolium Thunb. > Prato > Elite > Navona.2. The materials were extracted with the ehtanol, and the thin layer chromatography, column chromatography and recrystallization were used to separate and purify, seven compounds were separated from the bulbs of L. lancifolium Thunb. Based on chemical reactions and a series of spectral analysis (IR, MS, 1HNMR, 13CNMR), five of them were elucidated as daucostero,β-sitosterol, glycoside, (25R)-3β,17α-dihydroxy-5α-spirosta n- 6-one 3-O-α- -rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β- -glucopyranoside and caprolactam. The structures of T4 and T7 would be elucidated later, because the present spectrum data was insufficient.3. The germination, growth, the content of superoxide anion and the activities of scavenging enzymes of lettuce treated by the aqueous extracts of the bulbs of L. lancifolium Thunb. were studied by adopting Petri dish bioassay while using L. lancifolium Thunb. as donor plant and lettuce as receiver plant. These results suggested that the germination and growth of lettuce were significantly inhibited by the aqueous extracts from the bulbs of L. lancifolium Thunb.,and the protective system in the seedling was seriously disturbed. This dissertation preliminary clarified the types of the chemical compounds and the allelopathetic effects of L. lancifolium Thunb. The contents of total polyphenol in the different varieties of Lily were reported for the first time. Seven compounds were separated from the bulbs, which the T3, T5, T6 were isolated from the plant for the first time. Finally, the allelopathetic effects and mechanisms of the aqueous extracts from the bulbs of Lilium lancifolium Thunb. on lettuce were researched. All the above research provides academic and experimental results for the further identification and rational utilization of the plant resources.
