By carring out contrast test of seeding with floating system and with conventional system, and investigating the current status of application of floating system in main tobacco-planting areas of Guangxi, the mail effects on the quality of flue-cured tobacco and the development strategy of floating system in Guangxi were analyzed. The main results were obtained as follows:1. Compared to conventional system, floating system reduced obviously temperature change extent on day and night, it was beneficial to roots growth.2. Compared to conventional system, floating system greatly improved quality of tobacco seedling, it was benefit of tobacco growth.3. Compared to conventional system, floating system could improved the resistance of tobacco plant, increased plant height, stem perimeter, leafs, leaf area. So this technique was beneficial to the growth of tobacco plants.4. Compared to conventional system, floating system greatly enhanced the yield of cured leaves, output values and ratio of high grade cured leaves. 5. Compared to conventional system, floating system not only increased the contents of leaf reducing sugar,total sugar, protein, total N and total K of flue-cured tobacco, but reduced the contents of leaf nicotine and Cl, so it could improved the quality of tobacco leaf.6. The correlativity on floating system and ratio of mid-high grade cured leaves were direct in main tobacco-planting areas of Guangxi, therefore floating system were able to improve quality of the flue-cured tobacco notably.7. The key of success of flue-cured tobacco float breeding technique was whether new technique was popularized and applied, and technique measures were carried out. The underlying guarantee of successful application is well technique training.8. The floating system technical is fit for social economy status and nature condition of Guangxi. This technical used plastic cote, practiced breeding centrally, supervised uniformly or dispersedly that with village as unit. For some mountain areas, floating seedbed technique is adapt to be carried out by disperse and "door as camp"way.To sum up, the above-mentioned results indicate that floating system can overcome many problem of tradition seedling growing system, such as seedling grows out of order, bad adversity resistance and quality , growing inconformity after transplanting , inconformity of maturity degree, change green and bad easily in the process baking . Floating seedbed system can improve quality of flue-cured tobacco. So floating system should be quicken popularization and improved proportion in Guangxi.
