Road green space is the space used for greening within the red line of urban road, It is an important component of the urban green space system. Greening rate is an indicator to evaluate the status of two-dimensional plane of urban green space, Percentage of greenery coverage is the indicator to evaluate the coverage scope of road plant, Green looking rate is an indicator depending on the environmental awareness of people. In this article, the author selected 101 roads of the domestic nine cities as the object for study. Each survey index include width of boundary lines of roads, the green belt width, cross-section of layout, tree height and crown height, tree shape, greening mode, green space effect attached urban road and square public satisfied level and greening rate value etc. The author analysed quantitatively the photograph's green looking rate by AutoCad software and used the Excel software to analyze the final data.The main results are as follows:1. In these 101 investigated roads, olny 26 roads scratch the govenment's standard requirements for the indicators of green space rate, qualified rate is very low. The greening rate, percentage of greenery coverage, green looking rate can measure the level of urban road green space from different angles, we should use them compositely.2. Both three-dimensional greening and rehabilitation of the plant can effectively improve the road's greening level, When there are more green belts appear in road , the green looking rate value in different road points are similar. There are serious influence on the percentage of greenery coverage and green looking rate of the tree's height, crown and shape.3. When Public satisfied level of green space effect achieve average standards, green space rate, green cover rate and green looking rate's distribution scope are different.4. On the premise of meeting road green space's major functions, the author recommended a set minimum green looking rate demand value of green space attached urban road and square, which can be more truthful and accurately reflect the ecological effects and green landscape effects of the roads.
