Ecological Division And Quality Characteristics Analysis In Chuxiong Flu-cured Tobacco Cultivation Area

With the method of "Principal Components Analysis" and "Hierarchical Cluster Analysis" procedures in the software of Statistical Program of Social Sciences(SPSS),Chuxiong flu-cured tobacco cultivation area was divided into four types,basing on the climatic data of Chuxiong (1971-2000),such as the rainfall,air temperature,relative humidity,sunshine,and other climatic factors and altitude,soil nutrients,etc.These four types of flu-cured tobacco cultivation areas are low altitude-heat-humidity area,middle altitude-warm area,high altitude-warm/cool area and middle/low altitude-heat area.Basing on the data of inherent chemical composition, quality,appearance and smoking results of tobacco from these four types of cultivation areas in 2004-2006,quality characteristics of tobacco leaf was analyzed.The results are as follow:Quality characteristics of tobacco leave of Chuxiong is obvious,good appearance quality, good maturity,loose structure,high content of total sugar and reducing sugar,chemical composition is harmonious.Tobacco leave of Chuxiong area is with outstanding clear flavor, aroma and thickness is good,aftertaste is comfortable,and combustibility is good,in a word quality of tobacco leaf is good.In these four types of tobacco-cultivation areas,however, appearance quality,chemical composition and smoking quality of tobacco leaf were somewhat different.Low altitude-heat-humidity area:The appearance characteristics of Tobacco leaf is as follows,maturity,slight strong color,the total sugar content and reducing sugar content in all areas minimum,the highest nicotine content,the minimum RS/Nic,features of clear flavor is outstanding,slight poor aroma quality and amount,aroma permeability and delicate degrees were slight poor,Irritation and taste slight large.Middle/low altitude-heat area:The appearance characteristics of Tobacco leaf is as follows, loose mature,order status,slight poor oil,the highest starch content,second in sugar content, slight poor aroma amount and aroma permeability,slightly dense concentration and momentum slightly too large.Middle altitude-warm area:The appearance characteristics of Tobacco leaf is as follows, mature,order status,sirong colour.total sugar and reducing sugar content was the highest,the minimum nicotine,the highest RS/Nic,outstanding the features of clear flavor,aroma quality and amount were good,adequate momentum,comfortable taste,strong feeling of sweet.High altitude-warm/cool area:The appearance characteristics of Tobacco leaf is as follows, poor mature,slight poor colour,content of total N and K₂O,was the highest.Slight poor aroma quality and less amount of aroma,concentration is slight dense,with spicy irritability,slight comfortable taste.Chuxiong is located in the areas of low latitude and high elevation areas.In growing season of flue-cured tobacco,there is a good ecological environment with strong sunshine,mild climate,abundance rainfall precipitation,temperature difference between day and night,what is good for tobacco growing.As the good conditions of temperature and moisture,the tobacco glucose metabolism" is strong,moderate is respiration,causing sugar content of flue-cured tobacco in Chuxiong is high.As a result,Sug / Nic of flue-cured tobacco leave is high flavor and rich with unique style Fen.In the light of our high-quality indicators and smoke of chemical indicators of experience,we can see that the appearance of Chuxiong state tobacco obvious characteristics,maturity,loose structure.The total sugar content of tobacco leaves,reducing sugar content is high.Tobacco flavor more prominent style,and is of good quality incense, aroma is adequate,moderate strength,and finish a comfortable,good combustion.The overall performance of the better-quality tobacco leaf is of typically the type of faint scent.
