In order to have a better understanding of the application of ornamental plants in southern coastal saline soil in China, the south bank of Hangzhou Bay has been studied as a typical representative in this article. The article is based on the analysis of existing plants in the area and referent research data. Moreover, according to the plant-introducing experiment in Cixi these years, an AHP model is established by analytic hierarchy process to select suitable tree species for coastal shelterbelt. 125 domestic and foreign varieties are evaluated in many respects, including growth adaptability, resistance characteristics and landscape features. 54 kinds of plants show highly adaptive potential, of which 17 are evergreen trees, 10 are evergreen shrubs, 25 are deciduous trees, 7 are shrubs , 7 are herbaceous plants. They have been used in various saline-alkali soil and greening projects in the south bank of Hangzhou Bay.We have accumulated some experience through some projects such as the Hangzhou Bay New Area project. In this project, according to the local particularities of soil, hydrology, climatecondit-ions, the application mode of plants is classified and evaluated. The article is also focused on the melioration of growing management, Tentative Probe into the construction management procedures, processes and conservation management techniques as the focus of pattern of tree planting with Out-soil and soil improvement model in the planting hoI;The construction procedures, technics and conservation management of are discussed specifically in the article about the pattern of tree planting with Out-soil and soil improvement model in the planting hole.
