| In 2006,Dao Te Nao Er County was approved as the construction of the pilot areas of national pastoral.There are some questions such as vast territory with a sparse population, traffic inconvenience, information lag in Pastoral areas,and for solving these problems , on the basis of the support and assistance of the strengthening policy, technology, fund and management,the local government actively introduce the information technology and promote to constructing it in pastoral areas. Using the "GIS" technology, we successfully developed a Dao Te Nao Er County Grassland herdsman management information system. This system provides intuitive, humanistic geography informative information for the new construction of ecological construction in pastoral areas, grassland protection, the development of intensive animal husbandry, the function of scientific planning of economic,and services the construction of the new pastoral.To Dong Wu Zhu Mu Qin Qi Dao Te Nao Er County as an example, We established a grassland management information system.And the system achieved the unified management and storage of grassland spatial data and attribute data . SuperMap as a development platform of the system, VB language as development tools, with SQL Server as the database. Grassland management information system can not only provide the query of electronic data files , but also to provide the query of an Graphic integration , and management functions, as well as providing the statistics and the various thematic maps that the units needed. The system has many functions,such as the management of multi-phase data analysis and data editing, query and update at the same time.And the system can not only provide the decision-making for the management of grassland resources, comprehensive evaluation, planning , but also to provide the technology platform for a typical steppe protection .
