Better soil quality is the important guarantee of plant species richness and best growth in the botanical gardens.According the soil conditions of Shanghai,Investigated and evaluated the soil quality in Chenshan arboretum,then evaluated the plant suitability,the results are as follows:(1) Investigated the soil in Chenshan arboretum,the evaluation result showed that:soil fertility is ordinary,the physics and chemistry properties were better,but the texture and structure should be improved.Generally speaking,the soil is suitable for ordinary garden plants.But for particular garden plot,soil production and environment quality should be invested and evaluated in small area according plant request elements on soil,then improve the soil to make both soil and plant fit for each other.The most affected water indices was the total nitrogen,As,Cd and Zn,the biological method may can be used to repair the water;and the water quality of main rivers was better,pH would low down and organic matter added,the texture also can be improved.Soil can be replace with out-soil to solve the short of soil in the city,but also bad soil quality may be bring in,so the best method we can use is producing compost and fertilize with city castoff,polluted mud and drove dejecta,it can replace nature soil in improving soil quality.(2) The appropriate pH range for it was 7.25-8.15,7.65 was the best.Suffering the salinity coercion,pH elevation may strengthen the Cinnamomum japonicum Sieb organ's anti-senile ability,reduces the plant's injury.Under the salinity stress,the chlorophyll content reduced, chlorophyll a/b ratio elevated.The proline content may be the index of salinity tolerance.To achieve the different effect,we can used different nitrogen fertilizer in different content, such as 0.6g/kg and 0.9g/kg nitrate nitrogen fertilizer were best for high nutrient element content,the mixed of mud and CO(NH2)2 was best for high chlorophyll content.But ammonium nitrogen fertilizer and CO(NH2)2 were better for Magnolia amoena panting.Phosphorus fertilizer experiment on Iris ensata Thunb.Result was that NH4H2PO4 was most useful for plant planting and nutrient element,mud also can enhance nitrogen content,but it should be mended to prevent the plant's death.(3) Fertilizer experiments showed that:city castoff should be mended and used under limit quantity,it would replace the fertilizer,so money can be reduced.But the mechanism of soil nutrient content changes with different mud quantity should be researched.
