Wanxi White Goose is a superordinary middle-typed goose. It mainly located in mountainous areas in the west of Anhui Province and Gushi County in Henan Province. It was identified as the country second class protected poultry and "national-level animal species resources protection variety". In this study, growth axis related genes expression of Wanxi geese were estimated by compared with those of Landaise Geese, which were received as an excellent variety all over the world, were expressed under crude fed.The test animal came from Wanxi white geese breed-conservation base in Anhui province, including 170 Wanxi white geese and 170 Langdaise geese. All the geese were fed together, ate and drank freely. Making reference to the best feeding standard of Wanxi geese, the diet for the test animal was designed as follows: metabolizable energy was 11.58MJ/kg and the crude protein was 18.16% during 1-28d; matabolizable energy was 10.99MJ/kg and the crude protein was 13.68% during 29-70d. The forage ratio was 3:1 from 29 to 56d, and 1:1 from 57 to 90d. 20 Wan-xi white geese and 20 Langdaise geese each were chosen randomly to be sacrificed (half males and half females) after 12 hours fasting. Blood samples were collected via wing vein .The hypothalamus, pituitary and abdominal adipose tissues were put into 2ml centrifuge tube and preserved in fluid nitrogen. And the following slauger index were detected including dressed weight, half-eviscerated weight, abdominal adipose weight, abdominal adipose index. The level of serum adiponectin(Adp) was determinated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The total RNA were extracted from hypothalamus, pituitary and abdominal adipose tissue to measure the abundance of the growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH), growth hormone (GH), growth hormone recepto(rGHR), the Adiponectin(Adp), Adiponectin receptor R2(AdipoR2)and Leptin by Semi-quantitative RT-PCR usingβ-actin as an internal standard.The results are as follows:1) In the same of feeding conditions, 90-day-old geese dressed weight, abdominal adipose weight and abdominal adipose index were no significant difference between two breeds. 2) The level of serum Adp was lower in Wanxi White Geese than that in Landaise Geese (P<0.05). There was no significant correlation between serum Adp and abdominal adipose weight3) GH mRNA expression was lower in Wanxi White Geese(0.95±0.19)than that in Landaise Geese ( 1.14±0.18 ) (P<0.05). GHRH mRNA expression was no significantly different between Wanxi White Geese(0.32±0.04) and Landaise Geese (0.40±0.05)(P>0.05).4) GHR mRNA expression was no significantly different between Wanxi White Geese(0.70±0.10)and Landaise Geese(0.78±0.06)(P>0.05).5) Adp mRNA expression was higher in Wanxi White Geese(0.65±0.02)than that in Landaise Geese(0.58±0.02)(P<0.05). AdipoR2 mRNA expression was lower in Wanxi White Geese(0.74±0.12)than that in Landaise Geese(0.95±0.12)(P<0.05). GHR and Leptin mRNA expression were no significantly different between Wanxi White Geese(1.71±0.16, 0.79±0.02) and Landaise Geese (1.35±0.15, 0.79±0.03)(P>0.05).6) There were no significant correlation among dressed weight,abdominal adipose weight and abdominal adipose index in both of two breeds. And no significant correlation among Adp,AdipoR2,Leptin,GHR mRNA,abdominal adipose weight and abdominal adipose index.7) Significant positive correlation was found between GH and Adp(r=-0.57, P<0.05). Significant positive correlation was found between GHR and GH in the female Geese of Wanxi White(r=-0.57, P<0.01)Conclusion:1) In rough feeding conditions, There were no significant difference between two breeds in abdominal adipose weight.2) GH mRNA expression was lower in Wanxi White Geese than that in Landaise Geese, but the GHR mRNA expression was no significant difference between two breeds. We speculate that the growth of goose was mainly dependen on target effects of GH rather than GH itself.3) The level of serum Adp and Adp mRNA expression were higher in Wanxi White Geese than those in Landaise Geese (P<0.05), but AdipoR2 mRNA expression was lower in Wanxi White Geese than that in Landaise Geese. The experiments show that the level of serum Adp, Adp mRNA and AdipoR2 expression exhibit different patterns between two breeds. The Adp secreted in the abdominal adipose may be not principal source of the serum Adp in geese. The regulation of Adp on the adipose was mainly depend on autocrine/paracrine pathway rather than endocrine pathway.
