Polygonatum sibiricum Redoute is very valuable traditional Chinese medicine, in recent years,to meet demand for Polygonatum in the field of medicine and food, had been cultivated for a large area. Rhizome transplanting cultivation is the main breeding,such asexual cultivation of the Chinese herbal medicines is negative to development,quality and efficacy.Falling of flower and fruit is serious,setting rate is very low,while the flowers and fruits are damaged by pests,all these affecting the sexual reproduction of Polygonatum.Therefore, this study is to solve the problem of sexual reproduction of Polygonatum,and population growth and development of Tetranychus urticae Koch in laboratory research.Because of shade plant,for the experiment, part of Polygonatum had been shade.Main results are mainly as follows:1. Budding time of Polygonatum was April 10,bud ending time was May 20,bud for up to 41d;Polygonatum flowering time was April 29,ended in May 29 ,flowering for 30d.Fruit appearing time was June 10,fruit mature was about October 10,the fruits need 4 to 5 months for mature.2. Average buds for per plant was about 200,the maximum quantity was up to 360,average flower was about 180,the maximum was 300,but falling of flower and fruit was serious,so finally get 60 fruits per plant, no shading area falling flower and fruit was worse than the shading. Setting rate of shading Polygonatum was 32.31%, fruit ripening was 10.26%,fruit drop was 68.25%; setting rate of no shading Polygonatum was 29.41%,fruit ripening was5.29%,fruit drop was 82.00%.3. Pollen viability of 5h before flowering to within 5h after flowering of Polygonatum was more than 80%;pollen viability gradually dispersed after 7h, 10h later becomes very low.Polygonatum seed set percentage of natural pollination was 36.33%, isolation without emasculation was 33.67%.Natural pollination after masculation was 2.33%,manual geitonogamy and manual cross pollination were 7.67% and 6.33%.Pollination mode of Polygonatum was self-pollination. 4. keeping Tetranychus urticae Koch with the leaves of Polygonatum,raising at 6 different temperatures.Developmental threshold temperature of egg was 8.28℃,effective temperature was 59.86d?℃, 35℃was the fastest and shortest developmental period;developmental threshold temperature of immature mite was 16.18℃, effective temperature was 23.28d?℃, when 32℃,the growth rate was the fastest larva;developmental threshold temperature of nymphs was 14.34℃, effective temperature was 24.05d?℃, when 35℃,the nymphs had the fastest growth rate;generation development threshold temperature was 11.29℃,effective temperature was 115.96d?℃.When the temperature was 40℃,it is not suitable for Tetranychus urticae Koch to survival.
