Study On Reproductive Biology Of Polygonatum Odoratum And P. Sibiricum

Taking two species of wild vegetables of the Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum as test material, through the field experiment and laboratory test method, comprehensive system of reproductive ecology aspects on blossom biology and breeding system of Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum were researched, to provide theoretical basis for propagation cultivation. The research location in Ex-situ Conservation, where in shenyang agricultural university. The main results:1. The floral syndrome and floral phenology show breed system of Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum were outcross.Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum were observed the process of flowering inflorescence morphology, colour, space variation and flowering phenology; Flowering dynamics and structure of flower were observed. Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum had large amount of flowering, synchronization, stigma secrete sticky substance, herkogamy, longitudinal crack on anthe to prepare for outcross. Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum flowering were isolatd, respectively in late April to early May and mid to late May, insect activity strong this season, and provides favorable conditions for pollination.2. Comprehensive pollen-ovule ratio (P/O) and out-crossing index(OCI) and bagging experiment results, show breed system of Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum were outcross type.According to the standard of Cruden and Dafni to estimate pollen-ovule ratio (P/O) and out-crossing index(OCI). Based on artificial pollination test to Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum breeding system for validation. Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum pollen-ovule ratio (P/O), respectively, P/O=4446.40±1111.09 and P/O=6530.40±1940.96 and out-crossing index(OCI) are 4, show that Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum for outcross type. Bagging experiment with cross pollination characteristics of these two kinds of plants were verified, results show that both kinds of plants of Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum did not exist apomixis phenomenon, outcross needed pollinators.3. Field observation showed that Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum had insect visit flowers, belonged to insect pollination.TTC staining method was adopted to evaluate the pollen vitality,and benzidine-H2O2 method was used for estimation of the stigma receptivity. And observation of the pollination insects.Through observing Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum pollination medium, found Polygonatum odoratum and Polygonatum sibiricum by insect pollination, and pollinators were mainly bees and flies.
