Nowadays, more and more people tend to pursue a beautiful, healthy, and green life. Moreover, it is a fashion for people to develop a healthy skin-care product with propolis added to it. Therefore, this article discussed how to develop propolis antioxidant moisturizer.1. After the analysis of orthogonal test, variance and multiple comparison, the optimum extraction parameters of propolis were determined as follows: 60℃in temperature, 2 h in time, 1 (20 min) of ultrasonic frequency, 1:1 in ratio solid to liquid, 95% in ethanol concentration. According to GC-MS analysis, the propolis contains 192 substances, including flavonoids, cinnamic alcohol, lanosterol acetate, hexadecanoic acid, 18-ene, 22 alkyl acids, vitamin E, etc.2. Standing precipitation test and safety assessment showed that glycerol-gelatin emulsion system was the best emulsifier of alcohol solution with 10% propolis, and the ratio was 1:1:1. By centrifugal partition test (10,000 rpm/min , 10 min), the ingredients of propolis moisturizer were identified, that is, 11.5 g of olive oil, 3.0 g of stearic acid, 4.5 g of Span-80, 1.0 g of Tween-80, 20 mL of distilled water, 0.5 g of sodium alginate, 600μL of lavender essential oil, and 1 mL of propolis emulsion. And the production process was: first the oil phase emulsified at 60℃for 60 min and aqueous phase emulsified at 90℃for 30 min, then the two phases emulsified with 2090 rpm/min for 15 min.3. The propolis antioxidant moisturizer was fine, well distributed, shiny and creamy, fragrant and a comfortable coating as well. It doesn't produce seperated layer when centrifuged at 300 rpm/min for 60 min and 10,000 rpm/min for 10 min. When placed at 40℃/70% RH and -20℃for 7 d, it doesn't lead to the seperated layer of oil and water, either. It is even not hierarchical when placed at 40℃/70% RH for 1 d, and then placed at -20℃for 1 d with the cycle for 7 d. Still, when placed at 40℃/70% RH for 0-4 weeks, the pH value of propolis moisturizer decreased from 6.44 to 5.88(P<0.01). The result was consistent with the standard of QBT 1857-2004.4. As for the antioxidant activities, the DPPH radical scavenging activity of the propolis antioxidant moisturizer were 63.94%, but when it was placed at 40℃/70% RH for 1 week, it was 60.37%, and the result was not in a significant difference. When it was placed at 40℃/70% RH for 2 weeks, the clearance rate increased significantly to 83.41%. The clearance rates were at a high level after placed at 40℃/70% RH for 3 weeks and 4 weeks, which were 85.68% and 85.76% respectively, with no significant difference. The bleaching time of the propolis antioxidant moisturizer with potassium permanganate solution were 35.24 s, 36.32 s, 37.96 s and 37.44 s when they were placed at 40℃/70% RH for 0 week, 1 week, 2 weeks and 3 weeks respectively, and the difference was still not significant. But when it was placed for 4 weeks, the bleaching time increased rapidly to 46.97 s(P<0.01).5. The total colony number of the propolis antioxidant moisturizer was 40 CFU/g, and it was consistent with QBT 1857-2004, according to which, the total colony number must be equal or less than 1000 CFU/g. The acute oral experiment on mice indicated that the maximum feeding was 2×105 mg/kg with no deaths and adverse reactions within one week. The result was consistent with GB791987BBAFD7B1-1127388844(the actual non-toxic was LD50≧ 5000 mg/kg).
