According to the analysis of global literature, the list of world phytophagous chalcidoids (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) harming plants was given, their morphological characters, hosts and distributions were summarized, the dangerous species for China were confirmed, the information inquiry system of world phytophagous chalcidoids was built as well. 168 species of phytophagous chalcidoids were recorded in this paper, 91 species belonging to Eurytomidae, 55 species belonging to Torymidae, 12 species belonging to Eulophidae, 4 species belonging to Tanaostigmatidae, 1 species belonging to Pteromalidae and 5 species belonging to Agaonidae. Now, the species more seriously injured to plants in China are Eurytoma maslovskii Nikolskaya, Eurytoma samsonovi Vasiljev, Aiolomorphus rhopaloides Walker, Eurytoma plotnikovi Nikolskaya, Bruchophagus philorobiniae Liao, Megastigmus cryptomeriae Yano, Megastigmus pictus (Fsrster), Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim, Leptocybe invasa Fisher & LaSalle, etc. Among them, Q. erythrinae and L. invasa invaded China as exotic pests in recent years and have caused a great loss in some southern provinces. Although some phytophagous Chalcidoid , such as Bruchophagus roddi Gussakovskiy, Eurytoma schreineri Schreiner, Eurytoma amyadali Enderlein, Megastigmus atedius Walker, Megastigmus chamaecyparidis Kamijo, Megastigmus spermotrophus Wachtl, distribute in foreign countries so far, they are always the potential threaten to Chinese agriculture and forestry. The information database of world phytophagous chalcidoids based on MS ACCESS was developed. A user could find out information in this database by inputting an order name, a family name, a genus name and a species name, or by inputting an author name, a placename, a morphological characteristic, a biological habit。The inquire results would include taxonomic taxa, hosts, distributions, morphological characteristics, habits and figures. The database system should be helpful for the quarantine of phytophagous chalcidoids in China.
