In this study, the content of polyphenol and nutrient content and its the dynamic law, gas production in vitro, dry matter disappearance and ruminal ferment parameters of the main desert shrubs and alfalfa in different growthing stages were compared. The relationship of nutritional components, gas production in vitro, dry matter disappearance and rumen fermentation parameters compared with the polyphenol of shrubs were researched respectively. It was provided the basic data for developing and utilizating desert shrubs resources. The results showed that:The average content of total polyphenol, simple phenols, tannin and condensed tannin of several main desert shrubs were 75.76 g/kgDM~101.78g/kgDM, 12.98g/kgDM~19.88g/kgDM, 61.07g/kgDM~86.09g/kgDM and 25.66g/kgDM~46.66g/kgDM respectively, above polyphenol Contents in Hedy sarum leave mongolicum was the highest and Kochia prostrate(L.)Schrad was the lowest except simple phenols. The content of polyphenols, tannins and condensed tannin had the "V" shape change or increased and highly signicant.on the During growthing stages, those were higher than alfalfa. There was a highly significantly positive correlation between the total polyphenols and simple phenols, tannins, condensed tannin(r=0.687, r=0.953, r=0.908) .The simple phenols and tannins was a significant positive correlatetion(r=0.610). tannins and condensed tannin was a highly significant positive correlation(r = 0.922).The average content of CP, NDF, ADF, ADL, EE, Ach, Ca and P of several main desert shrubs were 7.80%~18.45%, 33.44%~49.91%, 23.00%~37.69%, 3.67%~10.10%, 1.77%~6.59%, 5.40%~17.48%, 0.55%~2.47% and 0.14%~0.30% respectively,The content of Crude protein ( CP )in shrubs was decreased during the growing stages. Caragana Intermedia had the highest CP concentration, Neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) contents were increased and Caragana korshinskii Kom had the lowest. The Test in vitro showed that The total polyphenols, tannins, condensed tannins in desert shrubs compared with gas production at all time points had a significant correlation respectively(p〈0.05). The four kinds of polyphenols and NH3-N were highly significant negative correlation(p〈0.01). The total phenol, condensed tannins compared with BCP had significantly negative correlation respectively(p〈0.05),And a less correlation in other fermentation parameters.
