Anthurium andraeanum, a member of the genus Anthurium, the family Araceae, was an epiphytic evergreen herbaceous perennial flower, which was of a high ornamental value and economic value. This experiment based on previous studies, using the popular Anthurium species "tropical" as the experimental materials. Through the studies of growth pattern, physiology and growth indexes of Anthurium andraeanum, we expected to find out the best transplanted cultivation methods and the culture matrix for tissue cultural seedlings of Anthurium andraeanum. Besides, we also initially researched the fertilizer demand characters of Anthurium andraeanum in vegetative growth period, and suggested appropriate culture medium. By comparison analysis, we found out the best combination of medium and nutrient solution. The main results can be summarized as follows:(1) Anthurium andraeanum grew in pattern of "leaf—flower—leaf—flower ". The growth curves of petioles, pedicels, leaves and bracts are similar to type "S". The growth period of the organs was divided into three stages:formation stage, rapid growth stage, mature stage. New leaves of Anthurium andraeanum would take 45±3d from formation to mature and inflorescence would take 47±3d to fulfill this growth course.(2) The transplanting survival rate, plant height intrement and leaf area increment of Anthurium andraeanum seedlings showed better in seedbeds than in plugs. Transplanting tissue culture could choose seedbed cultivation. The analysis and comparison of physical and chemical characters of matrixes showed that treatment 5, 12,13,14,15 were better than other treatments, in which the best one was treatment 5 (peat). For tissue cultural Anthurium andraeanum seedlings, treatment 5,12,13,15 were more suitable than the other matrix formulas, in which the best one was treatment 5 (peat). Considering the economical effect, we could use "coconut residuum:pearlstone=2:1" instead of peat.(3) Through the analysis of indexes in the experiment, we obtained J4 (coconut residuum:rice husk:peanut shell=2:1:1) and J1 (coconut residuum:rice husk=2:1) as the best cultural matrixes for Anthurium andraeanum; Y4 (N:P:K=1:2:2) and Y3 (N:P:K:Mg:Ca=3:1:3:0.6:0.8) as the more suitable nutrition solution formulas for Anthurium andraeanum; Y3J1 as the best combination for growth of Anthurium andraeanum.
