Magnolia officinalis Rehd. Et Wils. was a kind of genuine chinese medicinal material of the city of Du Jiang yan. its yield had thousands of tons. it provides thousands cubic meters of Xylem of Magnolia officinalis incidentally. so much Xylem of Magnolia officinalis always were used for building and burning, however, they were never used better. Xylem of Magnolia officinalis were used to cultivate three Edible and Medicinal Fungi(Pleurotus ostreatus, Auricularia polytricha, Ganoderma lucidum) firstly. As a new kind of material, Xylem of Magnolia officinalis were studied through composition analyse of Xylem of Magnolia officinalis and cultivation of three Edible and Medicinal Fungi, and we hoped it could improve the field and quality of Edible and Medicinal Fungi. Simultaneity, the best formula was screened.First part, the nutrient and effect composition of Xylem of Magnolia officinalis was detectd. Results:through the test of HPLC, there was no magnolol in Xylem of Magnolia officinalis. Besides, it included crude fiber(60.40%), crude protein(1.72%), nitrogen-free extract (24.60%), crude ash(0.78%). so it could provide sufficient nutrient for Edible and Medicinal Fungi.Second part, Xylem of Magnolia officinalis were used to cultivate three Edible and Medicinal Fungi(Pleurotus ostreatus, Auricularia polytricha, Ganoderma lucidum). They were evaluated from four aspects(agronomic index, nutritional composition index, safety and health index, pharmacodynamics index). Result:First, Pleurotus could be cultivated by Xylem of Magnolia officinalis, The best formula was 65% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis,15% corncob,9% cotton seed hulls,7.5% bran,1% lime,2% gypsum,0.5% superphosphate. Pleurotus ostreatus of the formula could be edible safely; Agronomic index,65% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis was the best group; The aspect of nutritional composition index, crude protein of Xylem of Magnolia officinalis were higher 23.0% than controls. the aspect of pharmacodynamics index,65% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis groups showed a significant difference than model group. At last, Xylem of Magnolia officinalis could improve yields of Pleurotus ostreatus, the level of crud protein and the effect of immunity. Second, Auricularia polytricha could be cultivated by Xylem of Magnolia officinalis, the best formula was 50% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis,30% corncob,20% cotton seed hulls,1% lime. Auricularia polytricha could be edible safely. the aspect of Agronomic index,50% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis was no difference than cotrol. The aspect of nutritional composition index, crude polysaccharide levels of 50% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis group was 18% higher than control. the aspect of pharmacodynamics index, Auricularia polytricha which were cultivated by Xylem of magnolia officinalis had no effects on pharmacodynamics. But Xylem of Magnolia officinalis could ensure yields of Auricularia polytricha, and improve nutritional quality. Third, Ganoderma lucidum could be cultivated by Xylem of Magnolia officinalis, the best formula was 70% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis,20% corncob,10% cotton seed hulls, 1% lime. The formula of Ganoderma lucidum could be edible safely. the aspect of Agronomic index,70% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis was no diffierence than cotrol. The aspect of nutritional composition index, the aspect of pharmacodynamics index,70% Xylem of Magnolia officinalis groups showed a significant difference than model group. Xylem of Magnolia officinalis could improve efficacy of Ganoderma lucidum. Xylem of Magnolia officinalis could ensure yields of Pleurotus ostreatus, and improve nutritional quality and ameliorate obstacle of learning and memory.In a word, Xylem of Magnolia officinalis could be a new kind of cultivated material for Edible and Medicinal Fungi (Pleurotus ostreatus, Auricularia polytricha, Ganoderma lucidum). It not only improved the field and quality of Edible and Medicinal Fungi, but also played a changing waste into valuables and Energy Saving role. In the meantime, it provided a new way for utilization of Xylem of Magnolia officinalis, and promoted the develop of Edible and Medicinal Fungi and Chinese medicinal materials domain.
