Study On The Reproductive Biology Of Lycoris Aurea Herb And Lycoris Radiata Herb

Lycoris Herb is important ornamental and medical plant. There are about 20 species around the world, of which mainly distributed in East Asia, China, Japan, South Korera and small amount of the distribution in Southeast Asia, Nepal, Myanmar and Laos. There are 15 species in China (containing a variant). They mainly distributed in the south of the Yangtze River, especially in Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, where have many types. These places are the main distribution and the distributed center of these species. Up to now, many scholars have studied on Lycoris, their researches have covered many aspects, including development and utilization, breeding, systematics evolvement, propagation techniques and so on. However, few reports have been found on reproductive biological characteristics.In this paper, we mainly took L. aurea and L. radiata to study reproductive biology, which through morphological observation, measurement, paraffin sectioning and staining methods. The main contents and results were as follows:(1) Individual growth of related research of L. aurea and L. radiata. Seed production is a mainly form in L. aurea, small amount of it is bulb-point propagation; L. radiata is bulb-point propagation.(2) Stduy on inflorescence development process of L. aurea and L. radiata. They have the same basic process in inflorescence development, which can be divided into three stages: inflorescence primordium occurrence, flower primordia formation stage, floret formation. Formation flower bud in L. aurea is 30 days earlier than L. radiata'.(3) Study on the development of megaspore, microspores and male, female gametophyte in L. aurea and L. radiata. tapetum layer of anthers is glandular tapeyum in L. aurea, cytokinesis is a continuous type when microspores are dividing, mature pollen grain is two cells and a small number is three cells. Female gametophyte development of L. aurea are pairs of spores onion-type; Male and female gametophyte of L. radiata are abortion.(4) Study on embryo and endosperm through anatomical of L. aurea. Embryo development type of L. aurea is embryo development type of monocotyledon. The type of emdosperm is nuclear-type.(5) Study on seed germination of The germination time of L. aurea's seed varied widely. Based on morphological and the changes of histological festures during germination process, seed germination can be divided into three stages:(â…°)seed exposed white and cotyledon-sheath growth;(â…±)cotyledon basal enlargement and radicle growth; (â…²)primay bulb enlargement and the formation of native bulb.
