Rice is a type of tipical silicon-fonded crop. Many studies on effect of silicon fertilizer on yield formation of rice have been conducted by predecessors. while the study on effect of silicon fertilizer on super rice, especially on super early rice was seldom, and effect of silicon fertilizer on nitrogen utilization efficiency, physiological characteristics, rice quality, morphology of stem and leaves and characteristics of logging resistance was not reported. So effects of silicon fertilizer on physiological characteristics, yield formation, rice quality, morphology of stem and leaves and characteristics of logging resistance and silicon, nitrogen accumulation of super early rice were investigate in this study with Zhuliangyou819(Lodging sensitive variety) and Luliangyou996(Lodging resistant variety) as materials. The main conclusions were as follows:(1) Yield of super early rice was heightened by silicon fertilizer application at some extent, yield of Zhuliangyou819 and Luliangyou996 was increase from 6.71% to 18.25% and from 9.45% to 21.89% respectively, and the yield-increasing mainly due to increase of leaf index, dry matter accumulation, matter conversion rate and coordination of relation of sink-source. Effect of yield increase was best under condition of combination of silicon fertilizer and nitrogen fertilizer. And the effect was more effective for Luliangyou996 than for Zhuliangyou819.(2) Silicon fertilizer application affected rice quality of super early rice, but the differences between two varieties and among three nitrogen treatments were significant respectively:Under conditions of nitrogen application, protein content of two varieties was decreased by silicon application, while under condition without nitrogen, protein content of Luliangyou996 was increased by silicon application, while that of Zhuliangyou819 was basically unchanged. Content of amylase of Luliangyou996 was decreased by silicon application, while that of Zhuliangyou819 was increased, and the trend was consistent in spite of nitrogen application.(3) Silicon application was advantageous to improve nitrogen accumulation, nitrogen use efficiency, nitrogen uptake efficiency, nitrogen fertilizer efficiency and nitrogen utilization efficiency of super early rice, while it was disadvantageous to improve the nitrogen physiological efficiency.(4) Silicon application could improve the physiological characteristics of super early rice mainly lied in increasing of chlorophyll content, soluble sugar content, nitrate reductase activity and roots volume, and so on.(5) Silicon application could improve morphology and logging resistance of super early rice, and mainly lied in heightening of leaf area, decreasing of leaf angle of the flag leaf, increasing of diameter of stem, shorten the first and second internodes from the base and improving logging resistance power of stem.
