| ABSTRACT Objective:To investigate the prophylaxis effect of qianggubao I l(QGBI I )on glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in rats by measuring biochemical markers and histomorphologic measurement. Methods: 56 male SD rats were randomly divided into normal group,control group,QBG group and GuSongBao(GSB) group, 14 each group.The rats in control ,QGI3 and GSB groups were given prednisone(4.Smg/kg),twice one week, and the rats in QGB and GSB groups were administrated QGI3II and GSE respectively from baselinc,and the rats in control and normal groups were given NS from baseline.The rats were killed after 8 weeks and 1 3 weeks to measure biochemical markers, take histomorphologic measurement and observe microscopic and ultrastructure of bone.
