Objective To explore the effect of transforming growth factor-P i(TGF P i) to the collagen I, collagen III and collagen IV and the action in kidney fibrosis on human mesengial proliferative glomerulonephritis. Methods Immunohistochemistry method , Sirius Red staining polarization microscopy and the computer imaging analysis system were used to detect the expression of TGF- P i ,the distribution of collagen I ,collagen III and collagen IV and the relationship each one. Results In MsPGN , with the development of kidney fibrosis, collagen IV was increased markedly, in addition, collagen I and collagen III appeared in the expanded mesagial matrix abnormally. Collagen III and collagen IV were increased markedly in rubulointerstitium . TGF P i expression was not only significantly correlated with the increase of collagen I, collagen III and collagen IV in tubulointerstitium, but also with I/III and I/IV(p<0.01). Conclusion Abnoral increase of TGF P i may be one of the important factor resulting in glomerular sclerosis and tubulointerstitial fibrosis through the increment and abnormal distribution of collagen III and collagen IV.
