Protective Effects Of Boschniakia Rossia Ethanol Extract On Ethanol Induced Acute Liver Injury In Rats

Object To probe the protective effects of Boschniakia rossia ethanol extract on ethanol induced acute liver injury in rats.Methods 64 Wistar male rats were divided into normal group, injured group, Boschniakia rossia group and Glutathione group. Each group had 10, 18,18 and 18 rats respectively. Injured group was treated with ERGUOTOU( ethanol was 56%) by intragastrically as 6g/kg/d in the morning , and then in the afternoon treated with Boschniakia rossia ethanol extract 500mg/kg/g in the same way. Glutathione group was given Glutathione 50mg/kg/d by injecting muscle. Normal group was given 0.9% salt solution by intragastrically as 6g/kg. 10 days later, the blood and liver tissue were got. ALT,AST, SOD activities, MDA contents, GSH,GTSH-PX, GSH-ST was measured. At the same time, pathological morphologies of hepatic tissue were observed. Results In injured group, ALT, AST and MDA were higher than that of normal group (p<0.05). While SOD, GSSH, GTSH-PX, GSH-ST in injured group was lower than that of normal group. ALT, AST and MDA in Boschniakia rossia group and Glutathione group were lower than that of injured group (p<0.05). While SOD, GSSH, GTSH-PX, GSH-ST were higher than that of injured group (p<0.05). The histopathologic examination revealed that, degeneration and necrosis of liver cells inflammatory cellular infiltration in portal tract were much lighter than that in injured group with HE stain. .While in Boschniakiarossia group and Glutathione group glycogen granule were plentier than that in injured group with PAS stain ;There was no fibrosis septum with Tianlanghong stain.Conclusions Boschniakia rossia ethanol extract had protective effects on ethanol induced acute liver injury in rats.
