Clinical Observation And Experimental Research On Therapy Of Primary Liver Cancer With Ganfukang Dropping Pill

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Ganfukang dropping pill(GFKDP) combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) for treatment of primary liver cancer (PLC), and to discuss the mechanism.Methods In the experimental study, to observe the cytotoxicity effect of GFKDP on Si go and H22> and the effect on survival time of the mouse inoculated with tumour.In the clinical study, 36 cases of confirmed primary liver cancer who had not accepted any other therapy were randomly divided into two groups.The 16 patients in the treated group were treated with GFKDP plus TACE, the 20 patients in the control group were treated with TACE alone.So the clinical therapeutic effect were observed.Results Animal experiment showed the inhibition rates (IR) of GFKDP on Si go and Hi2 were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.01).And the IR was obviously improved according to the increase of dose in the definite range.The survival time of the mouse treated by GFKDP was distinctly longer than the control group too.In the Clinical study the overall response rate at hepatic pain, fever, inappetence, icterus in the treated group was 78.57%, 84.62%, 75%, 85.71%, and the efficiency of inhibiting liver cancer (CR+PR) was 68.75%, AFP reduction rate was 60%, the biochemical data, immune data, quality of life, and the toxic-side effect including nausea, vomit, increase of SGPT, decrease of leukocyte count were all superior to those in the control group.Conclusions Ganfukang dropping pill has effective toxicity on tumour in organism. It can prolong the survival time of the mouse inoculated with tumour. Ganfukang dropping pill has good synergic and anti-toxic effect on TACE in the therapy of PLC.
