A Clinical Case-control Study Of NMP22 For Detection Of Bladder Cancer

Objective To evaluate the clinical use of NMP22 for the diagnosis and surveillance of bladder cancer . Method This study was underwent with the clinical case-control study of the Epidemiology. The level of NMP22 was measured in the urine of 80 selected patients ( with same sex, age and profession), 40 p.atients with bladder cancer and 40 patients with non-bladder cancer using the NMP22 Test Kit(Matritech. Co). Results The sensitivity and specificity of NMP22 for the diagnosis of bladder cancer was 100% and 65% respectively. The level of NMP22 was elevated with the increasing of pathological grade and stage . The values in recurrent cases was significantly higher than those in original cases. Conclusion Urinary NMP22 is a simple , noninvasive, sensitive test for the diagnosis and surveillance of bladder cancer.
