Background The department of hand surgery of Dalian Municipal Central Hospital dealed with a patient whose upper extremity was broken into poly segments in 2000.One week after operation,we used Ultravist 370 to make contrast X image upon the broken limb,the fluent of vessels was suitable,but the next day we discovered the crisis of distal artery on broken limb.and then the distal end of forearm was necrosis.We made doubt that the contrast media made the injury of anastomosis site.We searched the related materials and have found no similar report,so we designed the experiment in order to investigate the influence of Ultravist 370 upon the anastomosis site after operation.Material and MethodNew Zealand 32 rabbits Ultravist 37032 rabbits are divided into A and B teams randomly,A team is NS control team and B team is Ultravist 370 infusion team.The first day, anesthesia injection with 3% barbital sodium in marginal vein of rabbit ear, cut off the artery of right posterior extremity sharply, use 10-0 microthread, eversional suture 8 times uncontinuously , and then suture fasia and skin, injection heparin subcutaneous with 6250IU,feed them normaly. Two days later.use the same method to anastomose left femoral artery of posterior limb.In the third day after the second operation,anesthesia the animals with the same method, on 3cm of the proximal cutting site of both extremities, cut out the skin and fasia, anatomy the femoral artery .inject to the arterial cavity with 10 degree angle along the longitudinal artery by 1ml injection utensil, inject 0.5 ml NS to A team and 0.5 ml Ultravist370 to B team, suture fasia and skin .feed them normaly.24 hours after injection, anesthesia the animals with the same method, cut out the skin and fasia on the same anastomosis site,observe the impulse condition of theanastomosis artery ,anatomy femoral artery ,make fluent test on the distal site of the anastomosis site .observe the fluent condition of the anastomosis site . cut off the vessels of the anastomosis site and observe the vessels under the light microscope .Result Figure Observation : adhesion of peripheral vessels tissues in 3 days infusion team is more dominant than 6 days team . the endothelium cells of both teams of anastomosis sites have not covered the lower layer of endotheliums completely ,the amount of endothelium cells of 6 days team are more than 3 days team's, the basic layers of both teams have necrosis tissues, the smooth muscles around necrosis tissues of 6 days team grow dominantly and lymphocytes of endothelium and muscle layers relieve.The structures of both teams are not dominant differences under the light microscope. Electronic microscope: there is no domonant difference between A and B teams.The rate of fluent in A team is 93.3%, B team is 89.3%,Through x2 test, we could not believe there is dominant difference between the control team and the test team .Conclusion Ultravist370 has contact with new growed endothelium cells and lower layer of the endothelium , it could not have effects on the rate of fluent of anastomosis sites . There have reported some cases whose radial artery was obstructed, when making contrast image of cerebral artery through radial artery, so we should not omit the injury of the duct upon the endothelium , it can lead to spread injury upon endothelium and result in vessel obstruction .The cause of blood obstruction in this subject case is not the toxic side effect of Ultravist370 but the stimulating effect of the duct upon the anastomosis site .
