The experiment had researched whether and why Chinese herbal medicine Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz had effects on the concentration level of Thl/Th2 cytokines, nitric oxide (NO) and on the embryonic implantation and embryo transfer initially and preliminarily. The male mice were divided into normal group and sterilization group, the donor female mice and receptive female mice were distributed into A,B,C,D four groups randomly. The control group(A) mice were given normal saline solution by gavage at 0.5ml per day, the three herb group mice were administrated with herb soup at 0.2ml(B), 0.4ml(C), 0.6ml(D) respectively per day for consecutive 10 days. One group of receptive feminine mice were killed on day 4 of gestation. Their right-handed uteri were grinded evenly.and their serum were separated for analyzing Thl-type(IFN-r) and Th2-type(IL-10) cytokines by Enzyme linked Immunosorbent(ELISA) .At the same time, NO was tested by nitric oxide synthesis Enzyme(NOS).Their left-handed uteri were fixed by Bouin's solution for detecting their uteri histological changes . The other group of receptive feminine mice and donor feminine mice were applied for embryo transfer on day 3 of gestation and the receptive feminine mice were killed on day 16 of gestation to observe the development of fetus . The results indicated that IFN-r level in herb groups is lower and IL-10 level is higher than the control group strikingly and the herb groups each other had outstanding difference, among which the herb group one is the lowest and highest. The r-test told that IL-10 and IFN-r had negative relation whether in serum or in lysate. At P<0.01 level ,the relation in lysate was -0.877,the relation in serum was -0.735 .The result also indicated NO level was reduced too, but only the herb group one(A) had a remarkable difference with the control group. The difference in sections of uteri issue said the same result that herbs groups had a much developed uteri changes, especially the herb group one(A). The outcome of embryo transfer group suggested that the success rate in embryo transfer in herb groups higher than the control group and the herbs group one(A) was the finest and the only one which had notable difference with the control groupand had no side effect on fetus mice .The Chinese traditional herbal medicine Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz could improve the successful rate of embryonic implantation and embryo transfer by having an effect on hormone-immunity-cytokine system.
