The plants of the genus Buxus are used as traditional medicines. Many phytochemical studies have been reported on Buxus. In our research, the plants of the Genus Buxus are studied in order to make good use of them. From these plants, compounds belonging to flavone, coumarin, lignan, triterpene, steroid, aromatic compound and so on, have been isolated by means various chromatographic methods. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral (NMR, MS, IR)methods. As a result of phytochemical study on Buxus sinica, ten compounds were isolated. Cleomiscosin A, 3,5-dihydroxyl-4',6,7-trimethyl flavone- 3 ' -O- -D-glucopyranoside , 3,5,3',4'-tetrahydroxy 1-3,6,7- trimethyl flavone, Cleomiscosin 4 ' -O- -D-glucopyranoside, 3,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid-4-O- -D-glucopyranoside, 4',5-dihydroxy 1-3,6,7- trimethyl flavone and ( + ) -pinoresinol-O- -D-glucopy ranoside are firstly reported from the genus. At the same time, 3,5-dihydroxyl-4',6,7- trimethyl flavone- 3 ' -O- -D-glucopyranoside exhibited a little inhibitory activity on platelet aggregation induced AA, ADP and PARFour compounds were isolated from Buxus austro-yunna nensis .3,4-dimethoxybenzoic acid and 4,9,2',7 - tetrahydroxyl-4'-7-epoxylignan-3-methyl ester are firstly reported from the genus. They were purified to 95% at least. Our research is important to the data of the natural product and the research of its pharmacology and biologic activities.
